Redguards, because then i can half all my sword swinging skills of awesome and boost my athletics so i run around and insta-gib any monster i come near to touching. I love cheating, its so fun to just decimate and entire force of dremoras and steal their daedric weaponry.

Probably an Altmer, at least if they retain their magic bonus.

Imperial, fingers crossed that they are still called that. I just like the balance of the race, and Roman thing they have going on.

I've never done a character that was SOLELY one type. For example, I did a mage that was a fist fighter with light armor, or a Nord with high sneak skill but was great with a blade. The closest I got was an assassin wood elf. I really want to do something like an Altmer that focuses ONLY on magic, or a redguard warrior.
Usually my Wood Elf Sniper had a pretty decent conjuration skill, too. Nothing like a spider daedra to distract everyone while I picked them off from a distance.

Argonian. I love the way they talk and being able to breath underwater really helped me on the Dark Brotherhood quest line. Either that or a Breton.

Probably a Nord first.

Then i'll go with Khajit assasin or high elf mage.
Because if magic is as strong as it was in Oblivion I'll never receive a hit anyway.

I loved my argonian on Morrowind so that's what I'll probably choose as my first character on Skyrim as well.

I liked Nords, until I learned their backround was mostly drunken brawlers, even though every Nord you meet is a pretty cool guy.

Probably going to go Imperial for that main character effect and the connection to dragons through the empire.

If the magic is sweet than a Breton for my third or second. Or an Argonian just for the coolness.

I don't know all the races by heart, but I was a Breton in Oblivion mainly because I loved the +50 magicka boost. In that game I was full mage: my main skills were all the magic ones, with stuff like sword and light armor as minor skills.

This time I think my guy is going to be a little more combat based, so it'll be destruction, sword, armor, healing, with maybe alchemy/other magic skills to fill out the major skills. I'll pick whatever race helps me get that.

Uhh.. it's Skyrim. Half of us (me, at least) are going to pick Nords just because, well, we're in Nordish territory.
That seems awfully presumptuous. In Morrowind I played as an Argonian and in Oblivion I was a Wood Elf. Just because the setting implies I ought to be one class or another doesn't mean I actually have to be.

Personally, I played Morrowind in both the Spear and medium armor and heavily armored two handed sword route. In Oblivion I favored the stealthy marksman over all else. Skyrim might be the chance to give magic a try, but to be honest I'll probably go for something like an Arcane Archer/Warrior type. The magicka system in Elder Scrolls has always been a bit wonky for my tastes, with it's near uselessness unless one resorts to hilarious exploits that turn even the most basic spells into world ending doomsday devices.

Gotta be Argonian, i was hoping to god this release would be the Black marsh so we wouldn't have another boring human land...

In Oblivion i played an Argonian no matter what class i was, it's not like it was ever difficult, and whenever i tried another race all i could ever think about was how much cooler it would be if i was a lizardman while doing this quest/stealing/exploring/anything.

Only times i ever chose not to be Argonian was when they weren't allowed to wear shoes and walked like they badly needed the toilet, but then i modded that out and never went back.

Hence I tempered my presumption with the qualifier "me, at least" - to demonstrate that this was solely based on my own views and possibly inaccurate.

Orc, always been my favorite. I just hope they dont shit on the blunt weapons this time, because in oblivion there were almost NO special blunt weapons, even in dlc. The swords on the other hand had boat load s of special weapons. I want the weapon choice of Morrowind back dammit.
