Twenty ten.
I understand saying two-thousand back in the 00-09 years, but come on!

I don't recall many people saying one-thousand nine-hundred nintey-nine.

This is correct! Think of any year between 1000 and 2000 and they were all said as two numbers.

1066 = ten sixty-six
1908 = nineteen oh-eight
2010 = twenty ten

One is more colloquial and frankly, easier to say. The other sounds like a really bad movie with pretensions of epic-ness that will be made in a couple millenia by a descendent of Roland Emmerich :)

2,010. 20-10 seems like we're trying too hard to make it sound like the futuristic society of the Jetsons.
I think this deserve a /thread
This is my graduating year.
"Twenty-ten! Twenty-Ten!" will be drilled in my brain forever, along with anyone else who is a senior in any university, or highschool for that matter. I think it sounds stupid, too, but I won't be able to stop calling it "20-10."

20-10. We said 19-90. 19-80 ect. The turn of the century just messed us up for the decade because it sounded weird to say 20-06 and such. We should just go back to the way we had it and say twenty ten.

I just say "two thousand ten"

Unless you're watching Hocus Pocus, because then it's nineteen ninety three.

Two thousand and ten. Though it doesn't annoy me if people call it Twenty ten.
