I hate summer time...too damn hot, too damn humid and, too damn bright. Of course, I'm the one choosing to move to Georgia (USA)...oh well, better than the swamp I'm stuck in right now!

I miss summer, i live in Denmark so it's a while since we had several consecutive days with sunshine and heat. It's my favourite part of year, but also the rarest.

Seasons from favorite to least favorite:
1. Autumn.
2. Spring.
3. Winter.
4. Not Summer.
5. Summer.
As you can see, I like moderate temperatures and prefer it on the cold side. Granted New York hasn't had Autumn or Spring in about two years, they seem to have been eaten by Winter and Summer.

Well on one hand I'm still studying and I get summer breaks, I like the sunlight when it's not being too bright.

On the other hand, I dislike the heat and the bugs.

I don't like the heat and the bugs.

Holidays, swimming, playing ball, having barbecues, nice weather and girls showing far more skin than usual does count quite heavily in favor of the summer, and are things I definitely look forward to each year.

I still clicked "dislike" on the poll.

The reason?

Grass pollen.
FUCK grass pollen.
I'm in a perpetual state of BLARGH from April-May to August. This is, as the name implies, a medical condition that can go fuck itself, which involves a sore throat, red eyes and excessive amounts of snot. For four months plus. Because the grass everywhere decides to have public sex. Ugh.

I also strongly dislike wasps, and they don't seem too happy about me either.

I love summer. I see people here bitching about the heat and I spent a year in Iraq doing foot patrols in 140℉+. Not to mention, this was the coldest spring I have ever experienced in my life. Screw the cold, I love me some summer and I like having consistent weather so I can make plans pretty easily.

I live in England, it should be cold and raining always. I like the cold and damp air.

The few weeks of hotish weather we get are bloody terrible,

My room is small and black (walls & carpet). All my gaming TV and PC devices produce allot of heat and of course being black my room absorbs. Normally this isn't a problem because the weather is cold and I simply don't turn on any other heating sources and I am comfortably warm.

However when the weather is hot and my tech is still producing the same level of heat it get horribly hot, drenched in my own sweat hot from doing nothing but sitting.

And I don't really like the sun ether, plus it causes too my glare across my screens I have to keep the curtains closed anyway.

... Of course it's not as bad as Africa or Florida I went to both places in the supposed "winter", in both places I could have easily been naked and outdoors for my entire time there and I would have never even felt anything even resembling cold. Even the, wind rain and air were hot, breathing was very weird, it was like trying breath when you are sitting in a boiling hot bath the entire time.

And the most amusing thing I heard whilst in Florida is that some places where shut because people were actually complain it was too cold to work ... what the fuck excuse is too cold work? And how the hell is it even possible in Florida? People work through blizzards in Iceland (which I have also been, loved Iceland) and yet they can't work in weather that is making me sweat my body weight out.

I like the summer ok, I don't mind the heat so much because I work in it everyday & I guess I'm just used to it now. I would like it even more if I lived anywhere near a beach, but sadly I don't. I just got back from a vacation on the beach & all I want to do is go back. I don't mind the daily evening thunderstorms I think of them as marking the end of the day by cooling it down a bit. I love that the warm weather brings out all the sexy ladies in very little clothing. The summers where here in Tennessee seem to be getting hotter with each passing year though, so they could be getting pretty bad soon.

I'm not a fan. I too have the hayfevers, and so it is mostly just a pain in the backside, or more precisely a pain and itching burning in the face.
Moreover we seem to get about 5 nice hot sunny days and the rest of the time it is on/off rain, making stuff grow to make my face hurt. I like the sunny days, but there aren't enough of them to warrant the irritation and discomfort that this time of the year brings me.
Spring isn't so bad though. I quite like that.

I've lived all over the world and I have hated Summer in every single one.

I hate the heat. I hate sunlight (I'm actually allergic to it. I will sneeze in rapid succession :p) and living in the South, oh my god it gets so hot and humid and it's like that for over half the year.

Give me Late Autumn and a freezing Winter. I love the Holidays from Halloween to New Years. I love the cold and the festive feel. Something about it, maaan.
Come to Wales. We don't have summer here, we merely get slightly warmer rain. On rare occasionas, we get snow, but mostly just cold rain. We have rain of every variety.

Hate summer, which is a problem seeing as I live in Australia...

The thing is, when it is cold you can put on a jumper or ugg boots and get pretty cozy. You get that amazing comfortable feeling of warmth when you are snuggled in your bed on a cold night.

In the heat of summer there is nothing you can do. You can't take off any more clothes after a certain point. You suffer through the night with even just a sheet being way too hot. Last summer was one of our hottest on record with many 8+ day heatwaves (35c or greater each day) and many 30c nights. You get about seven hours of darkness per day with light flooding through the cracks as early as 4am. Not to mention any kind of physical work has you sweating within minutes. You can always get air conditioning but good systems are not cheap and run up one hell of a power bill.

So yeah... I hate summer.

What?

Why so much hate for summer? It is the best time of the year. It's hot outside, there are lots of sports you can play, you can go the beach, pools, and lakes, and generally be outside. There are also a lot of water activities you can do like swimming, surfing, and water gun fights, and you could also go to various theme parks, be they water or thrill attractions.

I live in Texas. Summer here is brutal. Nothing but high humidity and 98-100+ weather. Even during fall/winter we might get a week or two of actual cold weather and then it's back to the heat.

I personally hate it.

Too damn hot. It's going to be 120 degrees soon since it's been damn near close to that for the past several days, and we've already had our first dust storm.

It really sucks if your A/C is broken, like mine is and probably won't be fixed until Friday or Saturday, because all you want to do is just crawl into a hole and die. :(
Sounds a hell of a lot like Arizona to me, which I am only fond of summer for the memories I've had and that I usually go on a vacation to California for a week in July. Good thing the most recent dust storm where I live wasn't that bad.

I'm not a fan.

I like in the Uk, so most of the time it is over cast but when it does get toasty, it just annoys me! I feel like a steak, sat there cooking, especially when your skin is slightly tingling from it. Even when it's warm I don't like it, I walk a lot and even on the coldest days I get a little sweaty, so on a warm - hot day it's just silly!

2 summers ago I developed hey fever and this year especially has been bad, my tablets say take 1 a day but I've had to pop 2 or 3 and even then I am an itchy eyed, sneezing wreck with water running out my nose like a tap.

When I think of Summer, I imagine Christmas and barbecues.

The first is OK, the second is divine.

The heat is pretty good as well.

This whole concept of Christmas and Summer is too weird for me (East European here)...

On topic, it really depends on the location. Summer in the mountains is divine. Summer in the city is the worst thing in existence.

You, sir, are correct!

At the moment I'm staying at a friend's place until it gets fixed, and I think the most recent dust storm wasn't bad where I was either. I can normally tell by looking at my car, but from the looks of things it's not bad. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the pool. :/
