I'm usually "good" and neutral. I will sway torward doing the "right thing" but I tend to get the urge to go "F*** it, I just going to do whatever." So yeah. I guess I would have to vote for mostly good.

I tend to play good-aligned characters out of habit. Evil characters just... tend to be too extreme for me. Sometimes I just can't handle the kinds of acts that evil characters commit. I've been playing a Renegade Shepard for the first time and, even if she's not really "evil", some of her actions have been hard to take.
I intended to do a playthrough of both the games to have a renegade savefile for ME 3. I stopped a few hours into ME1, I just wasn't having fun.

So yeah, I more or less always play good characters.
That said in games like Deus Ex, Deus Ex:HR, the Fallout games, etc, I every now and again get in a "dick around" -mood.
IE "Let's punch this random npc so hard in the groin that his torso explodes!" (<3 FO2)
Or "I wonder how many homeless people I can kill by throwing a fridge from the fifth floor?"

I always seem to come out "gray". I'll try and be good whenever possible, but if someone gets in my way too much I will do anything to remove the problem. After all usually in video games your trying to save the world or something similar. I'm not going to quit just because some jerkface wants 10,000 credits for something that i need to complete a mission.

Err...in both forms of RPG I tend to go for a character that is generally good and won't kill for no reason, but will do an break the law or do an evil act if the benefit is right. I also don't forgive traitors and the like. So I guess I wobble between Chaotic Good/Neutral.

*EDIT*
Kinda like Shepard's choice at the end of ME1. Although you defeat Soveriegn if you save the council or if you don't, Shepard does not know this. Here you have an extragalactic menace which all of your ships may not stop. I find that choosing to sacfrice several ships to protect the council to be far to reckless even for a Paragon. I always let them die because it is the choice that means the best chance of stopping the entire galaxy being stripped of intelligent life.

I think chaotic or neutral evil is unpopular because:

a. Nobody can trust your sneaky arse, therefore it wouldn't be as fun to play WITH you.
b. Nobody likes a guy who thinks murder is fun, except other people who think murder is fun. In which case, refer to rule 'a' above :)

Neutral Good. If I don't feel guilty about taking the evil choice, then the game hasn't done a good enough job of making me care about the moral choice system or the world and characters and I probably don't like the game enough to keep playing.

Well if fallout 3 is anything to go by, i get more evil the fewer people there are.
Or rather, the less witness to my murder/looting sprees there are.

Chaotic Good! I'll save the world, sure, but that doesn't mean I can't have some fun along the way!

Chaotic Neutral I always was. I often play games how I would in real life (Like say, in GTA, i won't kill some random guy unless he tried to kill me first).

Neutral since I will do whatever I want, and if I want someone's loot, I will take it.

Chaotic neutral, because why not? I'm not evil, I might even help you if you make it worth my while and sometimes you just need to stab someone. Especially if they are being a ponce.

Chaotic Neutral. No obligations, no risk of getting too wrapped up in your alignment that you become ignorant. As neutral, you get to survey all options equally and without bias so that you can best defend and inform yourself. Plus, if you play right, you can do your thing without being targeted by villains or heroes. Win-win, yo.

Although I do admit that a lot of noobs use this alignment as an excuse to troll or be general dumbasses, but I call them Stupid Neutrals who are trying to hard to be unpredictable. Pshaw, to them I say.

I do whatever I think is the right choice at the moment, but I usually end up way more towards the Good alignment (75-80%).
