The reason it is called "Final Fantasy" is because the first game in the IP looked to be the last game made by Hironobu Sakaguchi because the studio he was working for was stopping funding on his games. It's huge success came as a surprise, but with it being as huge as it was he was able to continue the IP.xmetatr0nx said:You mean when they will keep their promise about it being "final"? Who knows hopefully soon or im going to sue them for flagrant false marketing.
There are actually about 30 if you count Tactics and Online.RocketPocket said:Every series has to end.APPCRASH said:Why should they?
They have had what 12, 13 of these games now?
IMO, they need to stop at say 15. Its a good number to wrap things up.

I don't think you'd be old enough to see it as far as that. If it takes twenty years to make around 15, imagine the time to make 100.-Seraph- said:When it stops making SE money, plain and simple. Final Fantasy is a brand, and the name Final Fantasy can pretty much be tacked on to any JRPG if you think about it. As long as the games maintain a level of good quality and the stories stay interesting and entertaining I have no reason to give up hop. Yes the series has had a few turds in it's collection, but it's a series that is as old as most gamers, being 20 years old and all. Excluding remakes and ports, there are over 30 games that bear the Final Fantasy name, this series won't die until it stops being profitable. I won't be surprised if we ever see FFC (100 for all you roman numeral challenged), actually...I'd laugh.
pfft, I'll just freeze myself and only get thawed out when the newest one come out, then go back into cold storage. See I thought this through.crazyhaircut94 said:I don't think you'd be old enough to see it as far as that.
