You realize this is a pointless question, right?

The answer is "whichever genre I don't like." After all, if that genre had any good games, I would like it, right?

FPS.

Call of Duty. That's all.

Seriously, I love first person shooters, but ironically, it's more propense, more than ever, to attract crappy stuff.

Also, party games. So much shovelware polluting the Wii shelves.

Sports and racing games.

I hate those games because I rage so much, and I can never wrap my head around sports games.

Multiplayer-oriented shooters (kill, die, spawn repeat x infinity)

sports games

puzzle games (not games like peggle, I mean like... 'figure it out' puzzle games..)

adventure games (digby the dog, monkey island, etc) (don't hate me, the dialogue may be funny but the gameplay is just bad in these games)

I haven't played a single JRPG I liked.

In all seriousness, I cannot stress enough how downhill FPSes have gone. We started with badass one-man armies like Doomguy and Gordon Freeman, to steriod-brained idiots like Marcus "Fenn-Icks" and faceless dorks like "Master" Chief. Where'd the industry go wrong?
Oh, right...DOOM had a crappy comic. And a bad movie. And that silly fanfic.
And then John was a zombie. Then again, I blame Daikatana. That game was a mess.

*Your Milage May Vary, but this might be misspelled.

Hunting games.

Take a first person shooter, remove any semblance of excitement, boom.

RTS

They have only had one good series, Civilization. I never did care for starcraft.

EDIT: Civilization was turn based, never mind, there has never been a good RTS.
That includes the Total War games, the Warhammer series, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2, World in Conflict, Homeworld, etc, etc, etc?

OT: I never liked racing games to be honest.

You haven't tried Warcraft 3 then. Best real time strategy game ever.

Wait...=S...So we have a thread almost every other day either complaining about there being too many shooters, the lack of good shooters, the fact that everyone is trying to copy and go with the bland "realistic" war shooter that again everyone complains about, and then somehow the most said thing in a worse genre discussion is JRPG?.........what?

Strategy games. Not only do a lot of them suffer the same bland writing as JRPGs (usually when they're from Japan, of course), but when the gameplay sucks, it sucks hard.

And then there's the voice acting...

Missing poll is missing is misleading.

OT: Sports

I'm sorry but they are just glorified roster updates for $60 a year.

I think it's comes down to numbers. Since the FPS genre does well, you will find many more bad clones and copies, making it the genre with the MOST bad games. Same might go for RPG's. For every Morrowind or Baldur's Gate, theres a Two Worlds or Ego Draconis.

Conversely, the genre with the best games must then be Sim games. Can't think of a lot of bad versions of Civilization or Simcity. (though I'm sure you all can:p)

FPS. No, I'm not trying to be contrarian and say 'OH HEY COD&HALO SUCK', but an awful lot of garbage is churned out in that genre every year.

I'm starting to wonder if all the easy-to-use development tools and engines are giving awful developers that extra push to release their awful games.

Something along the lines of "Things I've never played make me SO MAD!!!".

Which genre has the worst games? Point-and-click adventure games. Seriously, go to your local store that sells PC games and take a look to see if you can find some of the horrendously bad games. For every Sam & Max there are at least 15 Big Rigs equivalents.

Don't question it, you'll just get confused. Besides, I'm about 90% certain that most of the people saying JRPGs have only ever played one or two FF games and watched some Yahtzee videos.
