Whoever it is most convenient for, I guess?
Not that I'm in a relationship or anything.

Both.

If you think you're mature enough to have sex, then you should both be mature enough to buy condoms. And it isn't down to one person to make sure you're having safe sex, that's stupid and childish.

Both people should have condoms available at their apartments if they're not living together. If they're living together, whoever's shopping at that point should just pick them up.

Shouldn't really be a topic. If anyone thinks its embarrassing to buy condoms, then.. well, man the funk up. Alternatively woman up. It's not hard. Nobody freaking cares if you buy condoms*. People have sex all the time.

*the exception is if you're like ten years old. You might get some weird looks if that's the case.

Whenever I've been with some one that seriously, we've taken turns to buy each others' things. So one week I'd buy condoms and she'd buy birth control, then we'd flip that over the next week; that way the cost for us both stays relatively the same so not one of us is spending more money than the other.

On one side, it's the guy's responsibility. On the other, it's the girls problem if it goes wrong. So just be prepared for anything.

When my girlfriend and I first got together and I realised things were headed in that direction, I bought some - also because she was visiting me most weekends. Awhile later, she moved in, and she also went on the pill, so condoms were no longer necessary.

Now we're married and I do most of the shopping, so when we run low, I buy more.

I think in a purely dating scenario, it's responsible for both parties to have them available.

Weird suggestion: Buy some each, keep at respective houses, don't need to go shopping every time you feel horny.
Just my crazy branch of lateral thinking.
Your logic has no place here.

OT: I voted Him. If I expect some kind of fun times I better be prepared. No glove no love and such.

Me and my girlfriend have a system for that. Who can pee the farthest has to buy the rubbers. So it's a bit 50-50, actually.

The guy. I don't know why a guy wouldn't want to buy the condoms. I'm slightly irritated by latex, so I have to get the polyisoprene ones (and they generally feel much better). I wouldn't want someone else experimenting with what goes on my dick with excuses like "It was on sale" or "It looked neat." This is why men probably shouldn't be in charge of dildo / vibrator purchases.

It's sort of chivalrous for the guy to pay for his own protection, but in a practical sense, I think that the money spent on protection should be about equal -- this includes birth control or whatever else. If the guy is paying a lot for condoms, and the woman isn't paying for anything, it's sort of unfair -- but really, why are we thinking of sex in terms of balancing numbers? Just have whoever is willing to go to the store pick some up on the way back. Ideally, it shouldn't be that big of a deal and should equalize out over time.

Alternatively, as someone said, both people buy them and keep them at respective living places (or, just have extras! You're going to use them someday anyway.)

Just get your mrs the arm bar (implantable contraception) cost me 130$ and is good for 3 year. Obviously we had to sit down and talk about it first as 3 years is a long time and we may want to have kids sooner than later, but it's worth it.

If she is buying condoms, she's probably cheating on you.

The only ones that are comfortable for me at the Magnums, the regular ones are too tight and tend to make me limp as a result. Since I can't use the "regular" ones...I would be the one to buy them, assuming I used them at all, which I don't.

Sorry, if I'm gonna have sex, I want to actually feel it.

Me and my girlfriend used to take turns in buying them, now it's just me all the time.

I wouldn't pay for a woman's pills (unless the government made me HEY-OH!) so why should she pay for my penis?

I'd say both, but in practise I'll always buy and use my own. Why? Because I'm terrified of sabotage due to crazy girlfriends.

In a trusting, lovely, wonderful relationship then both couples should pay for it, in my opinion. Both are using it, after all.

Mind if I ask about your response to the people showing videos of condoms stretching to the size of legs? I'm not throwing doubt about your penis size (because how the hell would I know?) but I do think Magnum condoms promote the idea that condoms have certain set sizes, but I've personally put a 'regular' condom on my arm without much stretching.

In my case, its neither. We dont really want to tempt fate before we are married so we are not having sex until we are married. Plus both of us believe in only have sex to have children, so theres that.

Not like it would make much of a difference anyway. The women in her family seem to have some sort of...I just call it a curse, where NO BIRTH CONTROL WORKS. Condom, The Pill, both at the same time, 70% of the women in her family have gotten pregnant while on Birth Control. Again, since I dont know if my GF is in the 30% minority, Rather not tempt fate.

Ideally, the couple would take turns on who buys the condoms. Of course that is not always the case so by default the guy should buy them.

I personally am not a fan of condoms. They are uncomfortable, they numb the experience, or at the worst they get stuck inside her so you have to take her to the ER to get it removed. But my fear of STDs and unplanned pregnancy well overshadows my dislike of condoms.

Haha seriously, when I was reading that part I thought: antibiotics for STD's? WTF? o_O

But then I read the rest and that made a lot more sense.

OT: When I'm in a relationship we both get tested. When we're clean. No condoms. She just takes the pill. (It's pretty common here for women to take them. Most girls are on the pill even when they are not in relationships).

When I'm single I'm always packing at least two condoms (for when I stay over at her place. One in the evening and one in the morning). And I leave the box at my place for when she comes home with me.
