Most certainly her. I'm not the one that doesn't want to get pregnant, and wearing a condom is a pain in the ass anyways.

Both parties should buy them. Heterosexual and homosexual relationships. whether it be two men, two women, one man one woman, genderqueer and male, etc...whatever your gender you should have condoms for a partner. I have a few in one of my drawers. I haven't been sexually active in over a year. They're new condoms too but the point being....when they expire I usually make them into balloons and stuff.....cause why not?

Weird suggestion: Buy some each, keep at respective houses, don't need to go shopping every time you feel horny.
Just my crazy branch of lateral thinking.
Amazing. Your powers of common sense could make you a god among men. Or at least a god among internet posters. >.>

If it's a pain in the ass, you're doing it wrong.

I say the guy should. He's gonna be the one wearing it afterall. I don't know that it really matters though, as long as someone does. Nothing would kill the mood faster than "oh crap, I gotta run to the store first."

Well, I am certainly not trolling, but I live in the 21st century.....*goes back and looks at post* Is this because of the "No sex until marriage and only to have children" thing.

It was usually me, but i don't have to worry about condoms now that my lady gets the birth control shot.

Guys because it goes on their penises? How about girls since it's the sperm that goes into their bellies? How about both as long as at least one of them doesn't want a kid?

No, that's just silly, we start holding women as accountable as men and soon we'll have to start treating them like equals.

Oh yes! You have no idea how long I've been sitting on this story.

I had been with my girlfriend for just a couple of months when it happened. We were still in that giggling, honeymoon phase... and still are if I'm honest, but that's not relevant. We had had the occasional accident and subsequent scares (riding around late at night for an open chemist is something I think everyone does at some point in their lives), and she doesn't like the idea of birth control pills. They give her headaches, so rubber wallys are the only way to go.

Anyway, what isn't really common knowledge is that condoms don't all have a uniform size. Just check on the back of the boxes... you'll see some measurements for diameter, and here in Vietnam at least, some sizes aren't very comfortable for my governor of love. This has led to some embarrassing situations where I've broken the condoms just by putting them on.

My girlfriend knew this, and as a (sweet?) act of kindness went to a pharmacist to do some research. She boldly went up and asked for some condoms. For her brother of course... this is still traditional Vietnam. The man behind the counter gives her a neutral look of understanding, and produces a box. She scrutinises the box for a while and shakes her head.

"Are these the big ones?"

"Er... I don't know."

"I need the big ones."

"I... I see."

They spend the next half an hour with a growing piles of condom boxes on the counter, checking the sizes of each one, the pharmacist's wife and assistant coming along t help check.

That evening, when we met for dinner, she proudly handed me the box of condoms and beaming with satisfaction said, "Don't worry, I've got the big ones."

I've never felt more of a man.

I always buy them (I'm a guy), but I think she might have bought a box at one point in our relationship.

My wife is on the pill and I don't like condoms so neither of use buy them, that option was not on the poll.

You both go to the doctor, get an STD/I screen done. Then she takes the oral contraceptive pill or gets an implant. Then you bareback.
Exactly this. You'll be less likely to get the female pregnant, and it feels a thousand times better.

Good guess!
I think my username would've been enough of an hint though XD

Just the first time I've come across someone who actually upholds those value's on the internet I mean.

I mean no offense, but they are kinda dated...

I'm bored, so I was just wondering, Escapists, (I'm also presuming the people answering this will be in heterosexual, exclusive relationships, because I'm in one, so it pertains to my life, sorry everybody else!)
Both.

Any sexually active adult who plans on having sex should carry protection. It's just good sense.

In a long term relationship... condoms (or other protection) usually ended up going on the grocery budget, just another thing to pick up when we went out to get bread.

My lovely partner and I take turns. After all we both enjoy it, so we should both equally ensure that we do it safely.

In a relationship, both should, since the vast majority of guys will fit average condoms just fine EDIT: in the United States, at least.

But, since I can't always rely on females for one-night stands or first encounters, I keep my own just in case.

I must say that I'm surprised by the poll results. I consider them a little bit sexist (though it's possible that many of the people that voted for it don't have sexism in mind but only what's standard right now), but it's not nearly sexist enough to warrant complaining. I'll continue buying my own anyway until I get into a committed relationship.
