I'm 28 & I live upstairs in my parents house, but the house will one day be all mine. Both my parents are 70 years old & my sister & I help take care of them & the house so they can enjoy their golden years.

Yup. I'm 23, at university, still live with my parents.

Not in the basement, though. Second floor.

I'm only gonna move out once I have a steady income and have (preferably) finished school. I'm in no big hurry.

My younger brother on the other hand...He wants to exit ASAP. He thinks my parents are smothering him with rules and worries and stuff. >_> He hates being told what to do, despite still being in high school.

Yes, but don't finish my uni course for a couple more weeks (I was seriously doing about 50hrs a weeks for the last 3 months T_T).

But once I'm done I will.... keep living at home while I try to survive as a programmer =|

Got my degree, paid off the last months of rent on my contract in the city I was living in at the time, couldn't get enough hours at my job to afford the rent for a new place in the same city, moved back home, no job, lives with parents. Whoo.

Actually I help a lot around the house and with grocery shopping, etc. I want to move out but can't because I can't seem to land a job. I guess I could sort of blame the economy on this one.
well, depends on what you graduated, sort of. what did you study?
I'm a world history major because it was the only thing I was interested in studying. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there are too many jobs out there. I was hoping to work with museums or historial societies but I'm not having any luck even with volunteer stuff with them.

Wow, that is a lot of people. Didn't expect the stereotype to be so true. I have yet to graduate highschool, but I don't plan on living with my parents.
Haha "plan" you say! Sometimes the future doesnt care about, "plans."

I graduated High School in 2010 and my university classes in 2011. I live with my folks now not because I can't live on my own but because I can't afford to.

I do. I just do not have the money to do otherwise next to university. At least i do not want to get out of Uni with huge amounts of dept.Even with our government finally doing its job and not bothering me with tuition any more, i would need a fulltime job to pay rent in this city. which is kinda hard when you spend your days in classes.

For the school year i stay in a university dorm that I pay for with my own money. For the summer and for Christmas break I live with my parents.

So, I do and I don't.

Currently I do, but I've not reason to move out. No girlfriend (they see my face, then run for the hills) nor a decent candidate for roommate. I don't have many bills to pay. I can't cook and me step-mom can.
Moving out as of now would not be to my advantage.

19 and I'm going to a community college that's about 20 minutes away meaning that it would be a massive waste of money to get my own place.

Same situation as me apart from that I live in rented accommodation during term time (halls are too expensive).

I expect I'll have to move back in with my parents after I finish my degree though since I probably won't win job roulette.

I'll probably move back in with them as well until I get an actual job.

22 finished college employed still living at home, the fuck do I wana move out for haha?

Life is awesome atm no bills, annoying housemates etc!!!! True I'm going to have to move out at some stage... Imagine being 35 picking up some random girl in a club, bringing her home and saying 'SHHHH, my parents ar still in bed', wouldnt do at all now would it ^_^

They dont mind when I pull my weight, doing chores and cooking the odd dinner. Then again my parents are two of the most relaxed people I've ever met so unlike a few friends of mine I'm not walking on eggshells when I come home wishing I was somewhere else.

I graduated, but I go to the same university my Dad works at, so I live with him and don't get charged rent, which is nice.

self inflicted injury then, dont get me wrong i LOVE history. but history is in the past and jobs are in the present. so jeah.. :/ feeling for you though, as a kid i wanted to be an indiana jones style historian guy too XD. though for you, i think it might have been better if it would have been say, your hobby instead of your major income-maker XD
