No Insomniac on the list!? I am saddened; Ratchet and Clank is my favorite game series ever!

My votes for Blizzard.

I really like WoW, SC2 and the Diablo series (I'd love Diablo 3 more... *cough*)
They don't have a lot of games, but they seem to put a lot of time and quality into everything they do. I think that's really important for a developer.

I'll say Valve. L4D2 is still my favorite game, Portal and Portal 2 were fantastic, and I've never disliked one of their games.

I'll give Squaresoft some props here. They've consistently come up with cool games over the years (some better than others obviously ;P).

Atlus. I love their games. Especially if you count games that they published and brought to the States like Odin Sphere.
And Disgaea. ;)

They gain massive points for helping NISA get off the ground.
True. I did a double take when I saw the publisher name on the case of Hour of Darkness. And I love me some NIS even if they have been hit and miss this console generation.
The only miss for me this gen was "Last Rebellion". And even that had a good concept. It was just a little too short and easy. But the idea of switching between too forms in battle was a good one. So was the idea of sequence targetting of various body parts. A near miss, but still a miss.

It's not like Atlus has always been spot on either, having published the worst RPG of all time (IMO - yes, worse than BOF:DQ...)

Presenting the worst RPG of all time:

Thousand Arms
I was counting games that they published. I often bring up Hyperdimension Neptunia. Create concept and a great art style. But the execution was lacking. Can't wait for Disgaea 4, though.
And I never played that game. (looks it up) It sounds okay. That bad? I have my own hatred for a particular RPG.
FFX.

Bethesda, mainly because of the Fallout series. Ubisoft, to many awesome games to name from these guys, but there DRM is uh, questionable, yeah lets go with that. Also Paradox Interactive, Mount and Blade series is beast.

Ubisoft. The Tom Clancy games, Assassin's Creed, and many other titles. They're a talented, diverse bunch, and they make damn good games.

Tough call between Nintendo and Capcom. A year ago, I wouldn't have questioned it, but I've been playing some of Capcom's NES games (Gargoyle's Quest 2, Sweet Home, Little Nemo: The Dream Master), and they're just fantastic. Both have a huge backlog of classics. Both have made some great games this generation. Both are the best reasons to own a Wii*. Hmm...I might still leans towards Nintendo, but a good Breath of Fire reboot could change that.

Edit: Upon further thought, that's highly debatable. Capcom, Sega, and Konami (I need to check out that Rebirth series on Wiiware...) have all made several great games for the system.

I voted for Nintendo because I just love all of Nintendo's main franchises. When you look back at their long history in video games, they've accumulated a huge number of classics, most of which still hold up as great games today. However, if I was just talking about the past 5-6 years, then I'd probably go with Bethesda or Valve. The Wii and just Nintendo in general recently has been somewhat of a disappointment to me, and that's why I traded in my Wii for a PS3 earlier this year.

definitely Bungie. they make great games, for one. but its the fact that they are clearly more in touch with their fans than any other developer that makes me like them the most

I would say that Bethesda and Double Fine tie for first for me. After them, I would probably say Valve
