Not really since everyone does it, it just means that nowadays if you don't you're the feminist jerk. ^_^MASTACHIEFPWN said:It is common curtosy for the guy to pay.
It leaves a "I'm a nice person" sort of feel.
Can I ask why you have J.J as your Avatar? (Unless I'm somehow mistaken)DeadlyYellow said:Myself, as the man. It's a bit of a pride thing.

As a girl, I'm always willing to pay. If the guy wants to pay for everything, I usually let him, but I never go somewhere where I wouldn't be willing to pay my share.lovetropicana said:I've been wondering for some time, who pays on a date? If the guy pays, does the girl owe anything? If they go dutch, is that female equality? Is it better for the guy to treat the girl like a lady? What do you guys think?
And if your answer to the poll is "take turns" then who pays the first time, and how do you mutually agree? Does it just happen, or does it need a discussion?
What do you mean it's his job? A woman is just as capable for paying for the date as the guy. I'd like to think we've grown past these arbitrary gender roles.SvenBTB said:Generally it should be the guy (and yes, he should treat the girl like a lady no matter who pays). Although sometimes, if it's agreed beforehand, going Dutch is fine (it's hard out there after all, and dates can be pricey). If it isn't discussed beforehand though, it's assumed the guy will pay. That's his job as the man in the relationship.
Why can't the girl leave a good feeling in the guy instead?sylekage said:The guy. It leaves a good feeling in the girl if you pay for her food, if you're actualyl trying to date her.
If it's just friends? Screw her, money doesn't grow on trees!
I don't think any of my friends would have it, but then girls (my friend kind of girls anyway) do tend to be pretty damn pretentious and overly abusive of the power play that is a relationship.lovetropicana said:I dunno, I recken plenty of the females that have commented so far wouldn't mind splitting the billKurokami said:Not really since everyone does it, it just means that nowadays if you don't you're the feminist jerk. ^_^MASTACHIEFPWN said:It is common curtosy for the guy to pay.

how does it prevent anything? If she was going to be a nasty i-have-teeth-in-my-genitals type paying for her dinner won't stop her (or you might get to the check and find out she already paid), I'm sure genuinely nice females wouldn't treat you differently if you paid or didnt payjonyboy13 said:The guy, as it prevents any sort of fake feminism from the girl.
