Depends on the Sub-Zero we're talking about. If we're talking about the first one who later becomes Noob Saibot, then I hate him. If we're talking about the second one who is the more well known Sub-Zero, then he's cool, pun not intended.

I love this fatality and do it to anyone online that I win against as Sub-zero.
And personally I enjoy the second Sub-zero (codename Tundra) more than the first. But I guess what I want to know is why is it always Sub-zero that the horrible stuff seems to happen to? Why not someone that nobody likes...like Kano? I think its a little like having Superman and Batman team up and then having Superman constantly getting his ass kicked even though you know he's badass in his own right...its a little bit WTF?
This is a little off topic but how come Reptile and Ermac have gone from a rain/scorpian/sub zero ninja look to an actual retile and ... mummy looking dude respectivly?
I get that when they first made an apperance they were just different colours of the same model, like Cyrax and Sektor but why couldn't they both remain as human looking ninja's? Well, I guess Ermac is a human looking ninja but he doesn't have the same ninja look as Scorpian and Sub.

I dunno I never noticed it. I'm too busy being Raiden to care about ninjas. Is Raiden even in the new one (haven't played yet)? He has to be.
Probably because Sub Zero and Scorpion are adversaries in the art work and story line. Also, when playing with friends I've noticed if one person is a ninja someone else must also be a ninja, usually Scorpion or Sub Zero.

I think there have been two. The first was killed by Scorpion, the current one is his brother. The Harry Potter Sub Zero was actually a female version named Frost. Forget which game she appears in. One of the ones with weapons and fighting styles.omega 616 said:

Sub-zero is actually my favorite character, his ninja attitude and freezing powers are totally bad ass. My friend likes scorpion though, so when I get MK9 and when he gets it, it's gonna be a fight to the death (literally) between me (sub-zero) and him (scorpion)

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 & Mortal Kombat Trilogy are different stories. In those games there are two Sub-Zeroes but either they are the same person OR one is MK1 Sub-Zero before his death (even though Noob Saibot is also in. PARADOX!)
Realistically though, they are afterall more like Special Editions of MK3. Just added a crapload of new and old characters to MK3 engine. Canonity is irrelevant.
Scorpion is a more liked character and in the mythos before the new game he always hated sub-zero. therefor, scorpion wins in advertizing.
Noob IS Subzero. The corrupted and original one. Sadly, he has no more freezy-powers, so he is - excuse the pun - no longer cool enough.Azure-Supernova said:

Which...leads me to point out that {A} I never really liked the cyber-ninjas (because they're not NINJAS anymore) and {B} I always wondered something... Why is it again that there are all these ninjas clad Subzero and Scorpion while having NO association with their order of assassins?

Well, most of the "ninjas" in the game (Sub-Zero, Smoke, Sektor, Cyrax) are part of the Lin Kuei, who according to their backstory are Chinese and thus not technically ninjas, but a clan of assassins/warriors (though, then again, Smoke and Cyrax aren't Chinese either, so....). Scorpion is Japanese, I assume, due to his name, so he actually is a ninja but is unaffiliated with the Lin Kuei.FalloutJack said:

I think they retconned the "Scorpion is pallete swap to troll Sub-Zero" thing. Now he just wears yellow cause he likes it, I guess.. As we see now, his outfit, even during the MK1 tournament, really looks nothing like Sub-Zero's or the other Lin Kuei (Klassic nonwithstanding).FalloutJack said:

I mean, none of the Lin Kuei are particularly stealthy, what with Sub-Zero freezing everything and Cyrax pooping bombs every time he leaves a room. Ermac just happens to wear a ninja-ish looking headwrap, and Reptile wears tight fitting kung-fu clothes (like half the cast does anyway). And a mask, cause otherwise he'd drool everywhere and his laundry bill would be outrageous >>
As for Rain and Chameleon...hell if I know. I'm pretty sure Chameleon doesn't really exist as far as canon is concerned, and does Rain even have a backstory? He could very well just be another Lin Kuei, who the others never talk about because Prince references are SOOO 1999.
