It's been a big topic over the years, split over a myriad of different subjects from religion through to HALO. (or is that the same thing?) BUT..exactly why do you hate the thing that you do hate?

If I hate something it's because I disagree incredibly strongly with it and the people who love it. But hate gets thrown around a lot these days, I don't think I really hate anything to be honest just severely dislike.

Put me down for "because it's destroying something I hold dear" and "I don't hate it, but I really hate the people who follow it blindly"

Both of those statements sum up what i think about a lot of things.

I don't hate much, I dislike a lot of things, but anyway: I hate what I hate because I think it is detrimental to a lot of people.

hmm... there's a myriad of reasons for hating the things i hate, and most of them are all of the reasons you listed. I refuse to believe anybody that hates just about anything doesn't fall into one if not all of those categories. But, since we've got to choose something, let's talk birthers. If you're unaware, these are people who refuse to believe president barack obama was born in the U.S. and therefore cannot be president until he shows proof that he has. The only problem is, he has, repeatedly. Do a google search and you can find the damn thing. Of course, this is a forgery in their eyes, never mind the fact that the governor of hawaii (that state in which he was born) has come out publicly and verfied it. Nevermind that there is lots of testimony from doctors and nurses who were there. No. None of that matters because he wasn't born in the U.S. he was born in kenya. Or canada. They also repeatedly point to birth certificates that have been proven false, one of which even gets kenya's official name wrong. WILLFUL IGNORANCE IS WHY I HATE THESE PEOPLE.

Alot of game-related things I hate because of the fans really, but thats because if they didn't like it, it would not matter. Halo 3, Gears of War, CoD fans beyond 3, PS3, Killzone 2 are among those under that catergory. Dont think liking it makes you my enemy however, since I dont think they are horrible things that should never be made, but if you think (out of the games) they are even close to best game ever, consider me your enemy.
Anything related to people though usually is anti-ignorance based, ie against religion, republicans and such.
Non-game things also actually fall under hate of fans often, like Uggz.

I can't think of anything I really hate (wow I must be really positive for once...).

But when I do hate something, it's always because I know about it and object to what it actually is. I never just hate it because it's cool or popular.

Mostly for destroying something that I hold dear.

For example twilight: It kills the idea of vampyres by making them glow in sunlight. That is just purely wrong.

Another one popular for me is bling followers. They are just purely idiots and are the main reason to all bad things on earth. Really, they are, think about it.

I hate tokio Hotel, hannah Montannah (or miley Cyrus), and jonas Brothers. I know I spelled their names wrong, it's on purpose. I hate them because they are exploiting the young audience, they always play the same song - love, love, love. It's because nearly all of the teenagers are into that stuff. But they don't really understand it, they think that going out with someone just because he is cool is love, love is to tolerate the girl/guy you love even if they have something about them you don't like. FYI I am a 15 year old myself and I reject all of the "love" crap even if it means I have to be alone myself.

I hate it because I hate everything until it gives me a reason to like it. If I don't like something, it's simply because I remain unconvinced of its worth.

I'm with Oblivious on this one. Hate is a strong feeling to throw around all willy nilly. It's the kind of feeling that takes a toll. I don't know that I truly hate anything.

I said because it's popular, because it's probably the closest thing I can see.

Call of Duty is the best example I can think of. It's ruining my ability to game with friends. I don't like it that much. Everybody else does, and plays it all the time. So I go to play something with my friends, but they can't. They're playing Call of Duty. So now, I hate Call of Duty. There may have been a better option, but I didn't look that much into it.
