The game was, up until the ending, absolutely fantastic. Gameplay was incredibly fluid and fun, and the characters had been written so well that it just made the ending even more unfair.
I'm okay with Shep making the ultimate sacrifice, but I'm not okay with the complete bullshit reasoning. Kid AI saying that organics must be destroyed because they'll make synthetics that destroy them? What? Plus, it makes every choice you've made completely irrelevant.
The absolute worst part of the endings, for me at least, is that there is zero closure. You don't know what happens to your team mates, your friends, your love interest, hell, the rest of the galaxy. It's just "Shepard saved the day by dying, lol the end!"
I really feel like the ending(s) singlehandedly ruined the game for me. The biggest part of the Mass Effect series was, for me, it's replayability. I have so many Shepard's that I was ecstatic to bring into ME3. Now, I don't even want to bother because I know the bleak, unsatisfying outcome.

I have to agree. I waited in line for the midnight release starting at 7:15 PM, the first person in line at my location. I had no issue waiting 5 hours to get my copy. Now, if I knew it was a linear story with an unsatisfying ending (let's face it, it is one ending), then I'd only play it to enjoy the time I spent playing.
It's like watching Leverage. I love the show, but every season finale leaves something to be desired. I'm still a fan, because I know my fan-boner will go flaccid when the opposite should occur. But I know its going to happen, and am prepared and am still a fan. I enjoy what leads up to the ending, even though the ending always makes me bored. Wish I could say the same for Mass Effect, but I can't.

Captcha: real mccoy (star trek ftw)

Bleak ending with cliffhangers and plot holes? This sounds like a case of....

DLC AND SEQUELS!!!!!

anything to set itself up for the next game right?

But honestly I'm not buying it for the fact that its content locked dlc garbage dilemma. And I know you will all say "dat wont do nuthin cuz everyone will still buy it lulz"

Yes, they will, but I'm not a spineless moron who goes against his ideals because they are unpopular. I'm not paying 60+ dollars for an incomplete game with a terrible ending. Not worth my money.

And the stock footage photoshop of Tali's face. Aint that a kick in the groin. Bioware = ultimate trolls.

You know what? Yes I am, if it makes the ending tolerable the game will be catapulted back into the game of the years spot it was so cozily occupying for me before the ending popped up. Until then it's a mashup between bioshock infinite and Halo 4

Why I hate it? I don't, but I'm not going to buy it until I don't have to get Origin. I don't want to support EA as much as I can.

Voting with my wallet and all that.

The only thing I hate about ME3 right now is the glitches in multiplayer. I dropped like 10 hours into the damn thing, lol sorry glitch to relock everything you've unlocked, have fun basically starting over. Until the fix it I've given up bothering to do multiplayer.

The game its self, I'm really enjoying, however the galaxy at war that (more or less) requires you to play online if you want to get the good ending. Now considering they were talking about multiplayer not affecting the single player, I'm rather hacked off about this since I don't want to play online and neither is the thought of scanning everything and doing every side quest (they add up) really that appealing...

Your choices matter, god even the dlc options found a way into the game, most people i caught saying that are just pissed (with good reason) at the ending, still doesn't change the fact that a lot of the choices youa mde through the first 2 games have consequences.

Graphics are the same as Mass Effect 2 and those are pretty ok in my book. The dialogue has choices, most people i've seen pulling that card have been people who just started playing the game, I agree until Mars you are pretty much held by the hand, but eventually the dialogue starts to branch out.

You may not always have the branching dialogue, but I prefer the dialogue having flow, and being unique, than spamming options to see if they have other things to say, and as opposed to ME2 I love the diversity in banter, discussion and interactions between the crew not only with you but with the people around you. And I found most of the dialogue from ME2 to be much more cheesy than ME3.

I was afraid ME3 would also suffer from "we all die the most noble death" but I was glad how they were all tastefully and heart wrenchingly done

Mass Effect 3 was to me an amazing experience, the DLC thing and the Tali thing altough shitty don't take away from the excellent game.

The endings though.... those left a sour taste in my mouth.

You don't have to play the Multiplayer, doing the Citadel and Probe missions allows you to achieve the 5000 threshold for the best possible endings.

I know you don't have to, but from what I gather there is almost no leeway with it, a couple of things get locked out and you can't end it that way, of course this may all be bad info I've been getting, even so, not fond of those online players getting an easy ride. =p I also have no idea how a squad of krogan can be as valuable to a war effort as an armada...not a complaint, just wondering how they worked out the values

Basically Borderlands... IN SPACE! At least the graphics and story are good like Borderlands though like Borderlands, the endings both were unsatisfying.

The gameplay is the best of the series, more challenging than the previous installment with intelligent enemies, the story is top notch as always, and the squad mates are always a joy to listen to.

But my big problem with it is the ending. I actually might've preferred sequel bait than an "open to interpretation" ending.

But all in all its an amazing game.

This is true, you have to do a 99% sidequest run for the best endings but to be honest the way they use war assets as rewards for sidequests kind of tricked me into feeling compelled to do it not for the endings, but because i wanted to have those Heavy artillery Elchor in my fleet of awesomeness

Aside from a few bugs it was going great until the ending. God damn what a way to ruin a great game.

They put Snooki in my Mass Effect!

<youtube=lgI2ZQVyrBo>

WHY, GOD, WHY?!?!?!

[sub][/Joke][/sub]

[sub] That was petty, I know. Just wanted to do that. Haven't actually played Mass Effect 3 yet. Want to, though. I actually won't mind Snooki/Jessica Chobot, it's just wierd. [/sub]

ME3 is a sad case for me because it has two flaws, one is Tali's face (which to be fair I got over quickly) and the other is the ending, which completely ruined an otherwise flawless game for me.

Exactly how I feel. It's like they wrote the entire story flawlessly and put off the ending until the last second. I boggles my mind.
Christ, you guys are scaring me. I saw the reactions to the leaks and just thought it was the usual panic before a release, now people having the same reaction after playing it is unsettling. It can't be as bad as DA2's ending....can it?

Funny thing is and this annoyed me is that she barely has any importance, she's just there 99% of the time, occupying Zaeed's room, just not doing much, all like "look at me, you know who i am!!! wink wink"

The ending is worse than DA 2, the game however is in my opinion one of the finest most engaging stories i've played in a long time.

I never played DA2 but buddy the ending to ME3...wow...I have no idea what they were thinking. It's like serving a customer a delicious five course meal and then for dessert just taking a shit on a plate.
