I don't think you know what projecting means.
*sigh* by claiming the group opposed to your view is only belittling your preferred sport out of some petty self image problem, which is of course not really happening, you've created your very own strawmen, which you can now freely attack.
Please come back when you've graduated middle school, k?
Actually, projection is when a person has unacceptable feelings/impulses and attributes them to someone else. I don't think I did that at all. Now, was my argument a straw man? Perhaps, if I were actually arguing anything. I merely stated that the belief that American football is a sport designed for insecure morons is laughable and (jokingly) said that there might be some projection going on.
There's nothing moronic about football. It isn't exactly a game of chess, but a player's ability to learn dozens and dozens of plays, strategies, and different ways to maximize the potential of their body is...well, quite intelligent of them. Sure, they aren't all going to law school or anything, but intelligence isn't always based on formal education. If American football is for morons, why isn't soccer? Why isn't EVERY sport? None of them are really that hard, right? Soccer is a game of triangles. Don't we all know what triangles are by now?
My main point in all of this is that a person who hates football because it is for "morons" is just as bad as a person that hates soccer because it is for "pussies." I realize I put too much time and effort into my response because you obviously don't really want to take this seriously (judging by your middle school comment), but at least now you have an actual argument to deconstruct instead of a one-liner (which was mostly meant for comedy).
Edit: And since you deny the existence of it, here's the quote from earlier that sparked my comment.

MANLYMANBALL! How about that? It's a 'sport' for insecure morons anyway
