Poll: Why the hate for Dragonforce?

Alot of there songs sound very similar and they do have a bad repuation live. When ive seen them they where nothing amazing but it was medicre at best. A very over rated band to say the least and i think if they got alot better sound equipment for there live shows i think that will probably help them out a bit as everything seems to drown out everything else live so its impossible to hear much of anything except for noise and lyrics.

Its also very annoying to see there rise in popularity when people refer back to guitar hero all the time.

I like them. Never thought to use the word repetitive but that's a good way to put it.

I don't hate them, but their songs are pretty repetitive and i am so sick of that "Through fire and flames" song.

Well for me I like classic rock and metal has never been my thing. Drangon forces music sounds more like people playing instruments at the same time really loudly over each other, competing to see who can be the loudest.

Mmm. I just think they're boring.. Their lyrics are really cheesy and meaningless, and I can't even tell their songs apart because EVERYTHING SOUNDS THE SAME!
I'm not really biased genre-wise either, considering that I WILL listen to any genre of music.

DragonForce is nothing but guitar solos. Kick ass guitar solos are fun to listen to when it is only the guitar playing, but when you get a drum beat, singing, and another guitar trying to play along with it, the song gets cluttered and annoying.

This is why Dragon Force isn't as good as they sound...

1) They play their music then speed it up for their albums.
2) Because of #1, they can't play at concerts even if their lives depended on it.
3) Almost all their songs are the same, just mixed up a little bit and each song only has a couple of "original" parts and even those sound almost the same as others.
4) There's Dream Theater, they play music just as fast as DF but they can actually play their songs. Avenged Sevenfold also has a song called "Burn it Down" that songs like DF but I like it alot better because it DOESN'T sound like their other songs.

I don't hate DF but I think they're decent, good at most. There's better bands out there.

no that's Slayer. there's like 20 seconds in every slayer song where the sound recordists just say, "ok, everybody just do something. anything as long as it's really loud and obnoxious" and that's what it ends up being

8 minute songs with 4 minutes of nonsensical Speed soloing is the problem.
they are not a bad band, but Herman Lee is overhyped and an assumed Virtuoso because he can play arpeggios really fast. Power Metal as a whole is laughable and the only band I ever thought was good from the genre was Blind Guardian.

I do get that some people think they're repetitive, but why does it call for hate and stupid profanity? Every DF video, 90% claim that they suck. When will people learn to be more respectful and less judgemental? Oh, and while I'm on it, a little survey on what the Escapists think of them.

People only know them because of guitar hero. That's why I hate them. Seriously, would you know Dragonforce if it weren't for Guitar Hero???

I'm indifferent. They can obviously play, there can be no denying that but its just not my taste in music.
