I got bored, why would I pay $15 a month just to do endless repetative quests?
"Sounds like a romantic evening."

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I'm actually totally impressed by the amount of people that said they quit willingly. I mean, I did too after I realised the first expansion was shite but wow, this totally contradicts the whole addiction thing. Unless of course, everybody is lying.
Check my xfire to see if I tell the truth, then realize I didnt use xfire actively untill a good year ago so my 2.2khours on WoW are not close to the actual number :(

I could not possibly see my self ever quitting this game.

Mostly because I would never play it in the first place.

I just quit for my second time. Planning on making this my final quit. The game is good, the content is fine, but I want to do something else now.

I want to get a job (which granted I could've gotten whilst I was playing), possibly get a console and/or a kickass desktop to play sweet new releases with.

So in short, I want to play other games now. Currently I'm debating getting DoW II or Mass Effect. Being in a RPG-phase at the moment, I'm thinking I'll most likely end up getting Mass Effect.

Cough, I've been using my current xfire account for about a year and a half, and I racked up an impressive 3700 hours. I've been playing since launch.

In retrospect I think it's only done good for me. I've learned so much about different cultures, my view on the world has changed a lot and not to mention the fantastic people I've met.

I've had an account since release, and have played it on and off.

At one point things did get a bit out of hand but I sorted myself out.

I found that WotLK content was by far the best, but there just wasn't enough to keep me interested. My entire guild got bored about 2 months after release and no one has been on since.

Yeah its no way "top number" but realizing I put in allmost 100days of RL time in 1.3years is kinda my point. its alot of gametime I dont regret but I did baffle myself at the ammount looking back.

I just got board and quit.

Got very very sick of running Gruuls, SSC and Mags. Plus i spent hundreds of gold buying all this sweet armor for my Mage, then having it all made redundant with a new expansion

I joined after BC and had fun for a year and a bit, but then got bored and quit. I came back and tried WotLK for a bit bit realized the end game was still the same stuff repeated at nauseam.

Hmm. I'm still having a lot of fun in a raiding guild. I was one of the first people on my server to get to 80 and I haven't really tired of the game at all yet. I play it less than I used to but still, I'm nowhere near quitting stage yet.

I quit after my parents made me. I'm extremely glad they did. Looking back, I realize that I was an addict, albeit a sucky addict.

A horrible computer.
But as things are now, I don't really have much desire to go back.

I quit WoW about 3 weeks ago for good now, due to the way it is getting stupidly 'dumbed down'. There is little to no challenge in the game anymore. Even the raids are pathetically easy compared to the glory days of 40 man raids, when it sometimes took guilds weeks to finally be able to beat certain bosses ( I'm looking at you Vaelastrasz ).

Also the direction blizzard seem to be taking the game in, basing pretty much all class balances towards PvP, often ruining classes for PvE content, and the fact they seem to be trying make it into an Esport.

Plus the fact that you really do have to devote stupid amounts of time to the damn thing to get anywhere. It all starts to feel like work, and I do a good 50+ hours of that a week, and don't feel like coming home and having to log in and pay to work in my free time.

Looking back I realise how much time I have wasted playing it, being in a server first guild pre expansions and all through burning crusade, playing for anywhere up to 8 hours a night when new raids came out, and even longer on weekends.

I've gone back to playing AoC again now, since funcom have sorted it out, and it doesn't have all the show stopping bugs and quite a lot of new content has been added. And I can just play it pretty casually, without being forced to log on at certain times to do raids and stuff.

I quit cause:
-i was just bored with running everywhere.
-Took to long to get larger groups for larger quest together. (i dont have 5 hours at a time -to sit down and play videogames usually)
-alot of my RL friends gave up on it too.
-The majority of players take that game WAAYYY to seriously.
-Got annoyed at the global chat rants.
-80% of pvp'rs are D-bags.
-If you havent been playing for the past 3 years your automatically dubbed newb.
-everyone pretty much looks the same. compared to other games.

Unfortunatley this happens to alot of MMO's. The bigger they get the more ppl flood the formus and the more complaining and bitching at the devs ensues. Then out comes the Nerf bat. I'm a strong believer that devs should ignore most of them and just do what they were hired to do when they were assigned to the project. They were good enough then. No reason some rants and whining should change that.

My mother made me quit actually. Eheh. I was playing one day and I didn't have the headphones plugged in, so she woke up to the sound of squealing pigs being slaughtered. Funny really...

I played it for a long time, but right now, I can't imagine how I did it.
That game seems fuckin' boring to me when I play it.
Nowadays, I can't play it for more than a few minutes, because it's soooo boring.

I got bored before half of the trial has ended.

Where is this option?
This. Plus Warhammer Online hit. Now I am not even aware of this "WoW" thing...all there is is the imminent arrival of my slayer!

-I hated how people thought raids were difficult when they were just 25 people doing mundane tasks that would work fine if everyone's not a moron (but someone always is).
-I hated how battleground PvP was so horrifically disorganized...Like, why can't a battleground leader send pings to certain squads or something on the map, maybe have it come down as a giant waypoint beam of light? (like Savage 2 or Planetside?)(also, yes, I know about premades, they were good.)
-I hated how arena PvP was horrifically imbalanced, especially the 2's and 3's bracket. (Also, I love how Blizzard said that they balance the game around PvE and 5v5 arena, and then still leave in a ranked 2's bracket...)
-Combat system is inherently boring
-"The game starts at 60/70/80"
-People who complain about tanking being really difficult.
-People who complain about the game being too hard in general.
-People who complain about some other class getting buffed that they don't want..
-People. Girls getting attention for no reason other than being female, males trying to bang every girl gamer they see, people taking HORDE PRIDE too fucking far, people taking ALLIANCE PRIDE too fucking far, (though I guess in order to enjoy the game you have to do that, right?), people saying PvP is skill based when it's really "class > gear > skill" for 90% of what you're doing...I'll stop.

I sincerely enjoyed leveling until about level 63 on my main.
After that, it felt empty and stupid, and I only had one 70 (though at least he was pretty well geared since most of my playtime was on him).

I guess I just got bored of the game, but seeing the changes that took place in BC made me really wish I played Pre-BC, and seeing the changes coming up in WotLK...Well, let's just say that patch 3.0.0 was so damn dumb it felt like I was playing Diablo 2 again with how much damage everyone was doing (myself included), and so it ended up making the game stupid easy, and PvP stupidly imbalanced.

TL;DR:

So I quit at 3.0.0 because my account expired and I didn't feel like paying for something I wasn't enjoying, and wasn't playing with the people I joined the game to play with.
