When I first saw the trailer, I honestly thought it was a joke. It comes off like something you'd see playing in the background of a movie or on the television in GTA. It's like Postal if postal started listening to Cradle of Filth and taking itself seriously.

I am probably not going to get it not an isometric shooter guy unless it has space marines.
I am torn thought my first impression was trying to hard to be edgy with it just looking in bad taste and now its like well at least they are going full on a killer mode and seeing something this bluntly try hard is refreshing is a weird way.
But misanthrope is technically worst as one is a profound hatred for one sex while the other is just fuck off everybody.

The kind of "Censor this filth!!!" ones meant to drum up controversy, or "lol look at this i wanna shoot bitches lol" which I guess would drum up controversy as well while assuming the people hanging out on the site would be on board with that.
Considering some of their comments about being against "trend of political correctness in video games," and that they "sought to make a game that eschewed politeness, colorfulness, and games as art." which would make it seem like they have a certain idea about their target audience.
(Apart from the comment about colour, is that a recurring complaint anywhere? Or in general that you have to be polite in games? I sure hated it when I had to tip my hat to every prostitute I murdered in GTAV)

After the first level, however, it's more about self-defense and conflict escalation than outright overreacting to not being invited to parties again. Naughty is rarely the worst thing on the island, I think.
I honestly can't believe there is so much of a stink about this game yet when the original Postal released in 1997 with pretty much an identical premise no one gave a shit. This game is obviously aping it in a sense. Even down to the camera angle.

I thought the same thing. But in general, Naughty Bear is more creative and complex than what Hatred seems to be in the trailer. Excecuting inocent people with guns: simple concept. Harrasing inocent people until they commit suicide: not so simple.LaughingAtlas said:

Comes across to me like a whiny wanna-be emo kid that wants attention really badly and figures that drinking his own blood on camera is a great way to get it. Frankly, boring. If you want to legitimately shock me, you first have to make me care about something in the game and what happens to it, else it's just a bunch of pixels colored red.

Don't know if the game is good or not. but, if it is, it'll offer something different, and I'm quite content to enjoy diversity.
Nah, it's not for me; lacks GTA2's campy appeal and self-awareness. Nice for the top-down/isometric shooter crowd though, that niche has been rather dry recently.
I'm not gonna go so far as to say a definite answer after only having seen a trailer, because it seems that the trailer is simply for shock/discussion value, which has been utterly successful as far as I can see. Many people are quick to dismiss, but I've been deceived by excellent or horrendous trailers in the past and am not going to make that mistake again.
What it boils down to is, if it's NOT a tongue-in-cheek dark game, if all there is to it is mowing down citizens, and most of all if it's taking itself as serious as it appears to be, then no I won't touch it. But if it turns out to be trying to portray a message, or actually have some gameplay elements worth looking into, I'll give it a chance, if anything to try and see what's being attempted to achieve here. Yeah, the opening commentary also made me laugh, the executions and whatnot however aren't anything that hasn't been seen or done before, the tone of it doesn't bear much with me, still a game, after all.

I mean, in a purely gaming experiance way,it seems like it will get boring very fast. You can only show someones head getting blown up in glorious chunks a set number of times before it turns into an annoying time waster.
I will admit though some of those death animations made me "euuugh" with the more realistic looking people and somewhat realistic physics.
I hope there is more to this a game then an ostracized high schoolers wet dream.
