I still haven't bought Left 4 Dead 2. I'm waiting for it to go like $2.50 as I know it will someday. Which makes me sad because it was like $5 a little while ago and I could have bought it then. I'm interested in it but am too lazy. I'd probably by an L4D3 on two conditions: if I like L4D2 and if it's released at a low price, say, $20.

Yes because I enjoyed L4D2. It should have Ellis's friend Keith as a survivor! He has survived a dozen terrible experiences, so how would a zombie apocalypse be able to stop him?

It loses it's fun after you play it alone a bit, but with friends, screwing around can be really fun.

They would have to completely change the formula to the other two and still probably wouldn't, there is only so many ways you can kill a zombie

It really depends on what they do with it, if it is as similar to 2 as 2 was to one then i'd wait till a sale is on. Otherwise i'd decide on gameplay trailers and what is released,

Every game that Valve releases is a slap in the face until Ep. 3 is out.

I would pee on it. Or beside it. Whatever.

I definately would, unless they completely screwed it up.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for that kind of game.

Honestly, that is a hard question, i guess it would depend on setting and new stuff like melee weapons in the 2nd one, but i dont think they could add a new weapon set, though, i dont really thing about that stuff since (i think) the melee is already fine on its own.

I didn't even want to get L4D2, it was too soon they didn't do anything they promised and that annoyed me.
With L4D they promised they'd have updates like TF2 so I lept on it because hell the game is still being updated 3 years later, then 6 or 7 months into L4D being out they announce a sequel?! I get that a lot was updated in 2, but I bought 1 on the selling point "TF2 like updates" and they totally flopped on that.
I wound up getting it because of a favor I did for a friend, gifted me like 3 games on steam when they were on super sale. Otherwise I'd probably not have gotten it till it was down to like ...5 bucks that one time.

I'd probably buy Left 3 Dead if I saw any friends of mine buy it. That's why I played the first two, because I have so many friends to just jump in and play with.

yes.
because yes.
Left4dead is a great series, with the ability to tell a story only valve can. Same reason I like half-life. telling stories withing a story. Admitted, the left4dead story is . 4 chumps are lost with zombies, get to tha choppaaaaah. But the comics and extra content make the game more.. well.. great. The survivors get along so well and can even positively interact with fellow survivors (1+2). Not many games can pull that off. And yes Francis and Nick are pricks, but even with their prickery, they are still good for the group's solidarity, and by being ,if unwilling, part of the team, they still manage to put aside their annoyances, for the most of the time, and help/save others.
And that is why i like left4dead, and will be buying the possibility of 3.
also it's fun! and it pisses off my dad, because he thinks killing zombies is bad. so; More fun!

TL;DR

I liked l4d1/l4d2, and I will like a possible 3.

Most likely, as long as it's not just an upgrade like the last L4D2, which made me regret buying L4D, most of the new weapons felt like they should have been in the first and L4D2 realised the game wasn't 'horrifying' scary and more 'boo' scary, IMO.

I'd definitively buy it in a heartbeat!. Well, maybe I'd wait for a sale, as L4D2 was recently discounted at $7 and I bought it full price at retail.

I trust Valve, EVERYONE said L4D2 wasn't necessary and I was one of those, but somehow they managed to even top the previous effort, making it better in almost every single way (except for the new survivors, but I got used to them a long ago).

I even almost felt cheated when I played L4D2 compared to what L4D1 had.

I came back to it last night after not playing it for a year. The appeal has just died on me. Sad really.
Meh, the game wears thin with me sometimes too, but I always come back to it. How many hours have you played? might be that you've played a lot more than me, I have 310 hours between the two.
Not sure. When I first bought it I played every day for a month. The whole pull for L4D was every time you played it could be different depending on how many zombies and special effected appeared an when. The game has sadly run its course and all the surprises and scares have run dry for me.

Probably. I got a good amount of time with the first two. If I have to pay $33 (provided they do that 4-for-3 awesomeness again) for new maps, maybe a few new weapons or zombies, and a little tweak here and there, I'd go for it.
