I think he means literally like ZERO cash.

Bolsheviks had resources and some money, even though they were communist. Stalin prefered to spend cash on the Cold War and 'moon landing' race rather than his people.

pretty vague question.

would i die for land? no

would i die for the values/freedom that my country represents? yes

Anyone who is not willing to die for that is just as much an enemy to me as those attacking my country.

Nope. No chance of me dying for my country. Would that I could travel without a passport or being the national of any country, I would.

Only if it was for a good reason. If it was for a war against another country in Europe, I doubt I'd do it. Don't get me wrong, I much prefer England to any other place but I believe in a right cause too. Only time I'd die for my country is in a war against America (no offense) if it was within good reasoning.

What country is that? I want to know if I'm on your good side.

The country's people are what ultimately make or break the country. I am one of those people. Kill the country, but if the people live, we will rise up and create our country anew.

If my death were to somehow save the lives of every American citizen, I would be more than willing.

Perhaps it's not really dying for the country though.

I'd die to save any large number of people.

There are plenty of things I would die for. Friends, family, honor (if the situation calls for it).

But would I die for my country? Hell no! It's a piece of land with a name!

Nope.
And I hate the argument that this is selfish because I live here. As someone earlier in this thread said "you have to live somewhere". I feel no obligation to America for controlling the small area of the Earth which I occupy.
Everyone lives in a country and not everyone wants to die. Dying serves no purpose: it doesn't help me, it doesn't help my country.
A country is a hugely flawed thing; any country is; and given the choice I could and might live elsewhere. I am a person, not just a member of my nation, and that nation has no defined cause or morals, and those it almost has are not all ones with which I agree.
A country is just a group of people who claim to own an area of land. In my mind that doesn't demand allegiance.

I'm a dog, traitor and pretty worthless when it comes to things huh? Well, before we start throwing out fancy insults let me defend myself. I would not die for my country (Scotland) whether country means the government, the land or the people. I will die for my values though. Someone comes in and tries to take our democracy (and I mean genuinally, like if they tried to impose a dictatorship), puts in the death penalty, abuses human rights (European human rights, not American, I have a few bones needing picking about that one) ect. ect.

Though before I go all rebel commando, I'd protest and complain and sign petitions and all that. Because I genuinally think that force is an absolute last resort.
Perfectly said.

If there was a civil war, where a militia was necessary and one side was for socialist or nazi or facist ideas, and the other side was for current american ideals of freedom, then hell yeah I would take up arms for those ideals.

However if it was for people in washington now who all they care about is there own shelfish agenda (on both sides) rather then working together to come up with a solution to better help our nation grow an prosper. Well in that case I'm glad I'm not a secret service agent.

Umm, I think you mean communist ideals. America already has socialist stuff in it. Socialism is just the idea that the government should control parts of industry/services. Which America's government does.

Also, if America had a "socialist" (taking this to mean slightly toned down communism, but I'd support communism as well) revolution I'd totally fight for it. Sorry, that's just how I role.

In short yes.

To someone from a refugee family some of the responces are downright disgusting in how entitled some people are. My family came over from Cuba where they stripped us of everything, the U.S gave it back and then some. It allowed me to earn a living and my family to regain their dignity.

If the time came where my country needed me I'd gladly falsify my medical papers and serve, kill, or, if need be, die for it. Until then I'll keep paying my taxes, donating to Veteran programs, making well informed votes, and staying active in my community.
THE American Dream Right here! This is something worth dying and living for.

I think it's because Nazism is known as "National Socialism", so people assume socialism is automatically bad and related to fascism. Which of course it is not.
