No, but i might kill for it if it meant i could stay here.

If they res'd me afterwards, however, that's a different story.

Would I die for a country fueled with racism, hate, corruption and is overrun with morons?

YES!

haha, no....
and you are from?

are you english? or british?
LOL

South African. We hosted the soccer world cup...thing, if that's what it's called.
FOOTBALL- thusly named by us first, because it's a game with a ball, and you have to get it into the goal with the use of your foot.

P.S. Insert flimsy context allowing me to feed the lyrics 'I've never met a nice south african'

I would fight for my country, and try my best not to die, but if it came down to it, and it did unfortunately happen, what else would I have been able to have done?

Thing about loving the world we live in, it lets you risk everything without a second thought. For anyone who needs it. Doesn't mean I won't do everything in my power to eliminate whatever's posing a threat and survive do it all again.

So would I? Yes.

Do I plan for it? Yes.

Is it going to happen? Nope.

Family weddings blown up by Hellfire missiles. People dragged off as terrorists to unmarked prisons because their neighbour paid off somebody to get at their land. Civilians murdered by kill teams who pose in pictures with their dead bodies with thumbs up gestures and broad grins. People stripped naked and tortured by the dozens. HALF. A. MILLION. IRAQIS. DEAD. Since you followed President Hee Haw into the dumbest, most senseless, worst planned and most deleterious war of the last 50 years.

Who has the "guts" for such heroic deeds but the valiant soldiers of the US military? Me? No. I was in the armed forces of a country which recognises that homosexuals are human beings, that rich people should be taxed, and that climate change is real.

News flash, mate: the US military isn't a force for good. It's pretty much the #1 group of war criminals on the planet. It solely defends the interests of corporate America.

But hey, I guess that you need to lie to yourself, because "I fight for the bottom line of billionaires whose politician buddies would send me and thousands like me to senseless deaths without so much as a second thought if that meant that they could add 10% to their net worth" doesn't sound as catchy as "fighting for freedom" or some such nonsense that nobody who actually reads newspapers and books would believe.
Stop the whining man. You have what you believe in, he has what he believes' in. Difference between you two is that he's willing to risk his life and sanity for it while you just sit here online and boil over.

He'll have a life, a future, and a way to defend them. You, well, you might still have a computer screen between you and the rest of the world.

Yes indeed. Quite a bunch of righteous, gallant heroes you are. Christ, has Fox News brainwashed everybody with a double digit IQ in that country?

Wow, such eloquence. Such great arguments. I certainly am convinced now. Has anything changed since then? Despite the fact that American servicemen pissing all over dead Afghan bodies is all over the news TODAY, do you not still believe that America is super and that its soldiers are good and pure?

Idiocy and ignorance are always relevant. Sorry if that hurts your feelings, mate.

Show me that you have learnt your lesson - namely, that American soldiers are a force for evil in the world, not good - and then, I'll stop embarrassing you. ;)
hmmm i hadn't realized that i was being embarrassed. and what you seem to forget that those were legit targets. those Taliban would have seen those marines, their families, and all the people of the west (including Germany in case you forgot) dead. why are you standing up for these terrorists anyway? if they had the chance they would most definitely kill you.

and are you so fast to shun your own countrymen? men who have lade down their lives for your safety?

You would look a right arse were I to tell you that I actually voluntarily served in my country's armed forces, wouldn't you.

German Army, 310th Signals Regiment (now disbanded/integrated into GARFCOM), second company, first platoon.

Yep, indeed, you do look quite the arse now.

Also, I have no problem with people believing in things. I do, however, reserve the right to call those beliefs misguided. Killing for republicans is EXACTLY as heroic and brave as killing for communists.

Sorry 'bout the late response, been a bit busy.

It's all well and well that you've served your role in the defense of your nation, but you're misunderstanding one key thing about the American Military: Not a single soldier serves for a republican or democrat or libertarian or even the Green Party.

We don't fight for a political entity. We fight for the people we love and cherish who reside within the borders we help to defend and enforce. We fight so that they have the right to choose which party they'll vote for and support. We fight so they don't have to be afraid of any foreign power walking up to their homes and strip them off those rights with only the authority of lethal force.

I'm pretty sure you can understand that, having served yourself.

Now as far as how courageous and honorable it is to kill an enemy: It isn't.

It's courageous to stand against an enemy and not back down. Pulling the trigger isn't courageous.

It is honorable to help others in time of crisis and need. It is honorable to die helping them. Killing isn't honorable.

Also, I'd like to seem some evidence that 50% of the Earths population prefers the Taliban to Americans. I'm assuming have, at least, a poll or something that was provided to the estimated seven billion people in this world.

And if you don't have that evidence, please show me what power granted you the authority to speak on behalf of such a large percentage of the worlds peoples.
