Honestly, I probably wouldn't do it for a hundred dollars and would give it SERIOUS contemplation if it was for a thousand dollars... I'm the kind of guy who can't even work up the courage to throw a ball at full strength in dodge ball, and thats using a ball made entirely of foam, like the pillow kind... I highly doubt I could kick an animal with enough strength to actually cause it any sort of serious harm... hell I had a dog bite me and make it so I had to get stitches, I even ended up pulling my punches then subconsciously as my the flesh on my shoulder was being shredded... kicking a puppy like that ON PURPOSE... Is.. ...

This does not compute. How does making an animal suffer for no reason equate to stripping an animal of its flesh and eating it because you bred its parents for that express purpose?

Would I kick a random, cute puppy? No. But the dog next door that's been frequently waking me up early? Hell yes.
No. No I would not. There are other things in the world that deserve a kicking. Like that jerk at starbucks....

I'd try to avoid it(Only to prevent desensitising myself to humans), but if I needed that fifteen dollars a puppy's getting the punt.

Since I didn't ask "would you kill a puppy," it's not an exact analogue. But notice how a lot fewer people would kick a puppy, even though they're definitely doing less harm to the animal, than would eat bacon. I just wanted to see how people's intuitions would be different when they were asked to hurt a puppy instead of a pig. The "reason" is getting a small amount of money, which was meant to be comparable to the pleasure you get from eating the pig.Plurralbles said:

It's often used to show that people don't hurt certain animals because they are cute, which should have no bearing on anything at all. And then we look at what makes puppies cute, and it's the comparable features they share to babies (Big eyes, realitively big heads, their composure, dependance, playfulness).falconsgyre said:
