Yes, but because I hate dogs.
But your avatar is fluttershy!
Yeah, I know. And I love pretty much all animals. Spiders freak me out, and most bugs are a bit off putting. But I have a special hatred for dogs. Foxes, wolves, and other canids are wonderful. But dogs are complete idiots.
but that's why dogs are awesome!

I can't be mean to a sentient creature for so lowly a prize.

Especially one as wuvvable as that.
Dogs aren't sentient, sentient means to have thought and free will like humans.
OT: Nope.

Dogs have free will... that's why they run away a lot and pull at leashes when they're taken on walks.

Pretty sure they can think too.

I couldn't do it. The only way I'd kick any animal on purpose is if was somehow something that needed to be done to save a human life/lives. I wouldn't do it even if you offered me $150.

Hell, the only way I'd kick a full grown dog on purpose is if it was attacking me or someone else, and even then, I'd probably be able to take it down without causing significant injury to either of us. I'm a dog person, and I like most animals, so hurting them without a good reason is just wrong as far as I'm concerned.

Not that that makes Kitten Cannon any less fun to play. XD

No way I would kick a puppy. Not for such a dumb reason. If I was being attacked maybe if I couldn't stop the pup by any other means but not for monitary gains.

I only kick puppies when they try to help me walk or don't get out of my way fast enough and even then it's not totally on purpose.

So there was a topic recently about eating intelligent pigs, and apparently people like the taste of bacon more than they like the idea of not eating rational creatures. This disturbed me a little bit, even if a lot of the replies were probably tongue in cheek.

In response, I'm trying to come up with a situation where people might have their intuitions go the other way about animals. Imagine a cute puppy. If you can't, here's some help.

Would you kick that puppy for $5?

Edit: Some people have asked how hard you have to kick the puppy. You have to kick it hard enough to hurt it significantly, but not hard enough to kill it. You might cause it severe or permanent injury; that uncertainty is part of the problem.

Double edit: Some people have responded that $5 is not a whole lot of money. Let's make it $15. Hopefully that would be enough to make it worth your time, without affecting the moral issue.
No, I just couldn't. Kicking puppies is just damn EVIL.

And to anyone who still could after looking at this
you have no soul

No, no, a thousand times no! If you gave me $15 for *CUDDLING* that puppy, yes. Because how can any human being honestly put themselves up to the task of injuring a small, innocent, and FLUFFY animal? Huggle and cuddle them instead and the magical stress relief originating from embracing a small fluffy creature will more than make up for the loss of such a small amount of money.

I mean come on...cute puppies! How can you not love them?

I don't like hurting animals or even the idea of doing so, although I will defend myself if necessary.

I've grown up with dogs my whole life and I have loved each pooch my family has had. On my first birthday I was mauled rather badly when the dog my parent's owned had a phantom pregnancy. She was put down unfortunately and I still have the marks on my face for it.

No, I wouldn't even do it if the puppy had defecated all over my new shoes and then someone offered me $1000, booting him is going to cause permanent physical damage to the puppy and I don't want to have to explain it to its owner/parents.

The only way I'm kickin' a puppy is if it would somehow stop a nuclear war.

Think about it. The people would be evil geniuses of the highest caliber(or maybe even Cobra level!) to implant a nuclear device that could only be disarmed by kicking an adorable puppy. Even more evil would be is if you had to do while it was looking at you(with its big puppy eyes) and with its fuzzy head cocked to the side and with its waggly tail wagging with happiness at seeing you.

Or if it was chewing on the detonator and I didn't have time to nudge em off.

Or it was a zombie puppy.

Other than those three oddly specific events, I won't be kickin' a puppy.

I would kick a puppy for a notably large some of money, yes, but it would have to be atleast a few hundred. Ofcourse I would spend a portion to make it up to the dog.
I wont pretend I dont have my price, but Im not soulless...well, I might be, but thats a religious argument.

The only way I'm going to kick a dog is if said dog is a ***** (or son of a *****, as the case may be) in more ways that one. In other words, I would only hurt a dog in self-defense.
