Poll: Would you play a game where the main character was gay?

The sexual orientation of most video game characters is irrelevant because it never has an effect on gameplay. If there was some significant effect, then maybe I'd have a stronger opinion on the matter, but as it stands, I voted 'other' because I couldn't care less.

I like to pretend Master Chief is a little fruity and always pick pink or powder blue for my multiplayer armor color.

Besides due to my dislike of Kaidan Alenko my Female Cmdr. Shephard was a lesbian. Same with my heroine in Fable 2... Albion men are just so... creepy.

Yes I would. Would it matter? No. Think about it! Some of the most beloved characters in media are gay. The actor playing both Gandalf and Magneto is gay. George Takei is gay. And people still love them. Why would a game character be any different?

And think about it. If they guy was a very stereotypical gay male, then wouldn;t it be hilarious for him top be packing an m60?

EDIT: In Bully there is an option to have a homosexual makeout session with a few of the male characters.

I don't mind gay or lesbian characters, but don't u dare insult FF...
Tidus was definitely in love with Yuna, Vaan even had 2 girls he was going for, and Squall... I dunno, never played the game.

Still, someone being gay in game might actually be a selling point to me since it is so different. Then again, if the game is terrible then nothing can save it...

I don't think it would make a terribly big difference to me if the main character was gay, so long as the story line does not revolve around the character's sexual preference.

The only reason for a character to be gay is if the player makes them gay or if them being gay has heavy significance towards the plot.

Otherwise their sexuality is hardly an issue. Master Chief could be gay and it wouldn't make a difference.
