It's called "indefinite lifespan".

And yes, I would. Without a second thought.

Trade children for immortality.
Live forever.
Human cloning is an option.
You can have your own mini-me.

Absolutely not. I have two beautiful girls who have given my life meaning. If they weren't here, I would effectively be useless and my life would mean nothing. I'd want to die without them.
So I live for them, and I wouldn't want to live forever without them.

All really depends? Does the immortality come with eternal youth as well? If I'm only immortal so long as I am careful, isn't that not immortality but rather an indefinite lifespan that can be interrupted the same as any other lifespan? If falling from a building will kill you, as it tends to do, does that mean that the battlefield will also result in your death? And what if I were to contract a deadly disease? Does that kill me? Perhaps I wasn't all that careful and somehow got it. The rules for this immortality aren't really all that well thought out.

What's the point of having an indefinite lifespan if I'm not allowed to use its perks to my advantage to do something daring or throw caution to the wind? All I have at this point is just myself as I am now, doing the same thing. If I'm immortal, I want to be able to do anything and everything without risk. Hell, you can even put some kind of limiter, like I live so long as my head is attached a la Highlander, or I must be a pacifist forever or my body must stay the same as it is once I achieve and have no hope of gaining or losing weight, muscle, etc. If I just live indefinitely with no other perks, there's really no point or gain to it.

With such an ill-thought out form of immortality, I believe I'll have to answer no. If I had more to work with, more to understand, then I might have chosen immortality, but if there is no change in anything but how long I can live provided I don't do anything risky or different, then your immortality is meaningless.

Hm, why you ask so obvious questions? Immortality is way better than having to rise those little monsters ( I still remember how I was acting as a child brrrr). And from other point of view, Immortality should come with the lack of ability to reproduce, thats the only way to not destroy the balance - normally your children are supposed to replace you after your death, if you don't die, you don't need to have a replacement.
But you will die. Accidents, murder, and suicide will still reduce the population. You will eventually need to be replaced.
It depends what type of immortality we are talking about. You can be immortal but die from accidents or you can be immortal and, well, be somewhat like Wolverine from X-men with fast regeneration, or you could just be immune to everything. Even if we talk about the first option, the same happens with normal people - we die in accidents, often when we are still very young, so we can't have a replacements - thats to be expected. Rate of this would remain the same. So who would replace the perished immortals then? Children of people who decided to be still mortal and be able to have kids. Problem solved

Can't I just have neither?

I don't want kids or to live forever.

Both sound like long, boring commitments.

I'd trade the ability to have children for a box of cookies but not really for immortality. Immortality sounds boring.

Yes. Then I can create cloning and problem solved. Though in reality I would adopt. Do some good in the world.

I don't want immortality due to the numerous issues surrounding it (assuming invulnerable as well) so no. If it was a couple of kg of gummie bears I might consider it, got 2kg for my soul and as an atheist I thought that was a bargain.
Humans are meant to grow old and die, death is not something you should seek but neither should it be feared.
