Wait why the hell is there a war? If god is so all-powerful and junk, why doesn't he just snap his fingers and kill all of the bad guys? bit of a plot hole, don't you think?
It is a massive [plothole for religion in general, along with an apparently omniscient God not forseeing rebellion.

and end up in purgatory. Satan and God come and say you are skilled enough to end up as a soldier of either of them, you get to choose.

A demon goes to earth to fight the Angels and cause evil acts.

An Angel fights the demons, and makes sure people don't discover Angels and Demons exist. This usually means killing them. Horrifically.

Which do you choose? You can also use earthly weapons, and in both cases your corpse reverts to it's normal state and you dig yourself out of the ground (Or wherever you end up)
and in both cases, you fly.

P.S: Please take into account that you are Digging yourself out of your own grave.

well what would purgatory be like?

I would be a demon. It just sounds more fun.
as long as good exists so will evil.

if there was good and only good, then we wouldn't know that good even existed because we would not have evil to contrast against good. so we couldnt really tell the difference.
so therefore if we had no evil there would be no good because it would not be needed to mediate the evil

God doesn't need to fight them he has already won, the battle is between satan his devils and us.

Humans have free will, if we choose to side with the demons, surely that's part of an omniscient God's master plan.

I'd like to be a demon just to prove how short sighted humanities views on good and evil are.

Then again most of the time the good guys really do come off as the psychopaths in ancient and modern literature.

Your name + your discussion = delicious.

So damn good I might not need to eat anything else tonight ;).

God gave us free will because there is no point otherwise. and also if we side with the devils we are picking eternal destruction not eternal life.

You're never truly dead.

OT: An angel that owns up demons in awesome ways.

So it's not much of a choice then, is it?

"You can choose either one of these doors! That one will kill you though. Enjoy your free will!"

Except in religion there doesnt need to be evil because god is always good and whatever he does is good (like killing off an entire city). and basically what you just said was that without the devil, god would just wither away and die because he would no longer be needed. so...if one wins the other one dies? why are they fighting again?

EDIT: Arrgh, just realised what I did. Any other responses please PM me.

I would have to say angel, it sounds a bit more lawful than the demon but also is more noble and less...bastardish? I do like the secrecy involed in the heavens job, killing anybody and everybody who learns that isnt an angel or demon is pretty cool.

Also the reason good an evil co-exist is because they feed eachother. The world we live in prooves that in the way we see things. Good an evil may be a bit black and white about things but it is an easy way to think about it. Ultimitally Good needs Evil and Evil needs Good its an endless cycle of demon and angelkilling with a hint of James Bond.

Are demons and angels immortal? Can they kill each other? If they die, do they get resurrected? Do they feel pain?

I need to know these things before I give my answer.
It's like a unreal tournament team death match.
