See, now you're debating (more like preaching). The thread subject is about what we would do in the situation, not the ethics of firearms. You are trolling and you don't even know it.Ampersand said:I accept your apology for a start.MagicMouse said:It just seems like you could have said "There is no good reason for ME to have one" instead of saying that people that own guns have no reason to. The way you worded it could easily be taken as an insult to any gun owner.Ampersand said:I did...:/ opinions different from yours aren't automatically irrelevant. Should go without saying but whatever.MagicMouse said:This. Only I don't have enough. Not YET.Ladette said:I have enough guns, and why would I risk taking home what could have been a murder weapon?
Please stick to the subject at hand, there is no need for this to turn into a debate.Ampersand said:I really hate guns, there is just no good reason for someone to have one.
I wasn't trying to demean your opinion, so I apologize for any offence taken.
But my stance on subject remains that it is needlessly dangerous both to yourself and those around you for anyone to own and/or use a firearm.
Roughly this. There was actually a news story a while back about a guy who found a shotgun in the woods. He called the police then and there, told them he was going to take it back to his house and take it to the station in the morning to hand it in, to which he was told it was alright.Callex said:Guns in the UK are a strict liability. Even if I took it straight to a police station and handed it in, I would be arrested and likely charged for carrying a firearm. So no, I wouldn't touch the damn thing.
If you're lucky, the person who originally owned it would take the blameLadette said:I have enough guns, and why would I risk taking home what could have been a murder weapon?
