It's a bad idea to pick up the gun, you'll add your finger prints on it. If it was dumped off in a ditch then it's likely that it was tossed after a crime. If I really wanted a gun, I could buy one... if I wasn't broke.

Depends on the weapon.

There are a few models I would just take home with me (<1% probability.)

Failing that, I'd call the police immediately. For two reasons. 1.) if it was used in a crime, it's a significant piece of evidence. 2.) Maybe someone just lost their gun, I'd like to help get it back to them via the police.

If anyone drops a gun it was probably used for a crime. Call police... taking it would be a stupid move

If no one is around, I pick it up and take it with me, I drive to a secluded place and bury it underground, where no one will find it. Just in case, I empty it of the bullets and bury them in a seperate location, that way some kid won't dig it up in 1000 years when we revert back to the stone age (after a nuclear war of course) and blow his brains out with an ancient weapon (assuming it would still function after that long, but hey it could get dug up as little as 1 year later).

If people were around? I'd do the same thing. If questioned, I would tell them what I plan to do with it. I wouldn't go to the police, because I wouldn't want to 1) become involved in a murder case and find myself on the murderer's revenge list and 2) I just don't like having to do things I don't need to. :p

I would take the gun, fire blindly into the air, "Woohoo, yeah!" And by doing so, hitting and killing the Super Devil.

Put it in your neighbor's trash can... (You know that one old ***** nobody likes.) Just to see the look on the trash guy's face. Clip and all.

Put it in the mailbox. I bet someone at the post office would be really happy.
This. Lock the slide back, slide it in the mailbox (without getting your fingerprints on it.)

The reason being is that the post office workers are required to alert the police to anything that may be evidence, and this way I get to avoid the cops.

I have enough guns, and why would I risk taking home what could have been a murder weapon?
^This. Nothing more to add really. My H&K USP .40 compact is a sweet gun.

I would take it, then go home and clean it. After that i would load whatever rounds it may have had and put it in my closet in case someone ever thought breaking into my home was a good idea.

I would want to hand it in but concidering someone did that once and got arrested themselves for handeling a gun without a licence i would consider just leaving it or taking it for myself.

Um...I'm not sure you know what a pistol is. It's not some kind of passport to infinite power. Obviously, I'd just turn it in to the police.

Call the cops and stand near it till they got there. Cause I don't live in a country where you get arrested for being a good citizen.

I'd yell to my other three team-mates 'Weapons here!' as we all need that edge of dual-wielding pistols against the zombie hordes.

In seriousness, I'd call the non-emergency line of the police station, report it, and stick around until someone showed up. It may be the boring answer, and I'd be a damn dirty liar if I said I wouldn't be tempted to keep it, but sadly my parents raised me too well for that, buggers.
