No I wouldn't and nor would my family or friends , my parents are too old my brother and sister have very young kids. Im not going to go to my death while some politician sits safe in a bunker somewhere. I would defend my neighbourhood though if it came to it .

I would absolutely refuse, war's are caused by the politicians, religions and corporations that rule countries so let the people in control of those groups fight the war, not the people who are just trying to live a decent life.

I would only enlist if it was going to war for the right reasons. For example to defend itself not if it's attacking. Also I'd see if God wants me to.

Do you enlist immediately or not? The causes are not clear but the war has already taken thousands of civilian lives on your side of the border. Your family/friends have enlisted and everywhere you go you see people you know saying their goodbyes before basic training.

Do you have doubts and wait? Do you want to stay away from the fighting altogether? Or do you sign up right now?

Decide if you want. I'd probably be torn between waiting or going right away...

EDIT: Polls don't allow for edits after the fact do they? Put a want in that option three. >.<

Without hesitation. I'm a patriot, and I don't think anyone could call themselves one, of any nation, without believing their life should be forfeited, for the greater good.

Of course, this doesn't including the farces that pass for war these days, this is invasion / pre-emptive strike wars.

countrys with conscription sound like terrible places to grow up(unless its a not going to university, you have to be in the army sort of thing)
It's really not that bad. But too bad for me Israel sucks regardless of if there is, or there isn't conscription. WHY WHY WAS I BORN HERE WHY DID MY PARENTS HAVE TO IMMIGRATE FROM EUROPE?!
There are only two giant clusters of retardation on this planet the US and the middle east and I had to be born in one of them... My point is "stop whining because it is far worse for some other people"

If it is a war between nations like the world wars and not any of the current wars like the war on terror then I would enlist with out hesitation. As a citizen of my country I have an obligation to defend it and anyone who says differently is just a coward pure and simple

A homefront would depend on the enemy. I would on enlisted in WW2 it was fighting for something I believed in. The Iraq war, no way I have no faith in it so I would make a crappy soldier. Since I am not at all proud of my country right now it would have to be a war that I saw needed to be stopped ASAP.

I think I would. I've always felt that it it's a really brutal war, it's my moral duty to go because if I don't someone else takes my place and they might die. I dunno if I could live with that.

estonia wouldnt have a chance unless Latvia and Lithuania help us out but... I dont really have anything to live for and this would sort of be a chance to do something both interesting and meaningful.
Yea this. Baltic armed forces each on their own are quite week, United on the other hand... still weak.
Besides, who would attack 3 ex-soviet countrys anyway?

Probobly yea, I rather fight than learn Russian!(supposing that they are he ones who attack.)

Honestly I'm not sure. I wouldn't like to say I'd join up right away and be full of bravado. I'd have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

I'd defend my turf, but I wouldn't enlist to go abroad to fight.

I generally don't really agree with my country, but I fucking like my house to not be full of invading bullets...

If England ever got invaded, I'd enlist, and defend her the best I can. But otherwise, nah.

Depends, are we invading or being invaded. If it's the last then I would sign up in a heartbeat. If it's just the regular raid and mass murder in a third world country than I'm out.

I wouldn't enlist in the British army, but should the cause of the war be just, I'd certainly see about doing my own damage outside of military jurisdiction.

My government wouldn't take me even if I wanted to go, something about chronic illnesses making you less able to kill another human being or something.

Keep in mind that noone knew about the concentration camps in WW2 until the soldiers just happened to stumble across them. In hindsight it was pretty obvious Hitler needed to be stopped, but at the time it all started for the US with a few thousand people dying in Hawaii.

Which is pretty much what the OP was describing.
I'm sorry but where did they think all the Jews had gotten to? Holiday?

But you're right; America did rock up to the war too late, after they eventually realised that it could affect them, yet they continue to act as though they fucking single-handedly won it. I don't see what America's questionable antics have to do with my decision. I maintain that I would not arbitrarily fight in a war I knew nothing about, and if I were to die fighting, it sure as hell wouldn't be for my country.

I would turn into Tryndamere, Fight until im low on health, then use my Undying rage to high tail it off the front lines into cover, Wait for a minute and then repeat, War over.....

Serious answer: Probably, if the threat was close to home, then I'd rather defend my glorious country (England) (The best) (Oh yeah) (I like Brackets) (....) (Should i get back to the answer?) Oh yeah as I was saying, I would rather defend my country than sit and hide at home (secret compartment in my house) (STOP PUTTING BRACKETS!) (Im not insane don't worry)

I said no because I didn't read the OP properly, but I'd say that if war came to Australia I'd have a better chance of defending my self and my family with military ordinance than with a cricket bat.

EDIT: with a knife strapped to it.
