Im usually good, but I remember playing fable 1 as evil on my second play through and getting angry that fully evil took me about 14 mins to get, compared to the hours it took to get good. Adding to that the unlocking of a massively overpowered item in the next zone to the starter one made me think they just wanted you to be a dick from the offset.

Depends on both the game story and possible rewards, but I mostly play good. If you go by the old D&D alignment scale (best evah!), I'm usually Chaotic Good, which lets me be an a-hole to people who deserve it, while still being good overall.

Sometimes I take another playthrough that's more evil, but I almost never play completely evil, doesn't appeal to me.

I always go for the good option. I guess deep down I'm just a goody two shoes.

I'm usually good on my first playthrough, but only because most games seem to almost "force" me into doing so (i.e. the good option makes the game easier for you, one way or another). I always at least TRY the evil path though, if only out of morbid curiosity.

I do the opposite. I see games as an escape from reality where I can be someone completely different. Being evil is fun!

I like being good in public, and then secretly murdering and thieving when I can get away with it. So the game generally rates me as "good" even though I'm a bastard :D

It doesn't really depend on the type of game for me, just whether or not I have friends around when I play. Such as, when I play Dragon Age or KotOR, I can't help but be a good guy and help out all the people who need help. And if I want to do an evil option due to personal gain or having the story in a direction I want it to, then I get scolded by my allies for being such a douche. However, if I'm playing with my friends in a game like D&D, I can't help but take all the evil options just because it is so damn funny. Hell, I'll even do something evil or stupid just to see how my DM reacts. It's the same if my friends are around when I play a BioWare game. I'll go ahead and do all the douchebag options just because it's so damn funny, then laugh at Alistair when he gets all pissy about it.

Good, because I choose the options I think I would honestly make. I occasionally do something "bad" but in proportion it'd be something like 95% Good, 5% Evil.

In games with no moral choice such as GTA however, I am one sadistic bastard.

Also, being Evil feels tacked on and pointless:

Fallout 3: You can murder every innocent person in the wasteland, blow up the towns and steal everything in sight. You will still end up fighting for the BOH against the evil Enclave and save the wasteland.

Mass Effect 1+2: You will butcher everyone who looks at you funny, insult everyone who comes across your path but your squad will still love you and you will still save the galaxy (twice).
Your Mass Effect reference made me laugh, as it is completely true. It is WAY to easy to let Shepard an asshole. And frankly, it's fairly damn funny.

OT: I mainly do whatever benefits me the most. But in the end I am mostly good because I feel bad about taking advantage of the weak for personal gain.

I like to play one way then the other because most games with moral choices have two different endings and I like to see them both.

I like building somebodies trust and then stabbing them in the back.

I think that's worse than just being evil constantly.

I only do that in videogames though.

Good, pretty much always. Recently been going through KotOR I & II, first as good, now going as bad, and I just feel like a dick while doing it. Especially since Bastila/Carth/Kreia always keep bugging you about your choices =|.

Good.

I don't really see why I should run around and be a giant douce when I can reach the same results by being nice.

I always go good, but in games that allow you to switch things around, like Fable, I invariably snap and slaughter a town.

I swing both ways, Good on first playthrough; Evil on second. Can never do neutral as I always turn good instead. I'm a good person really ^^

I play good, because being evil is boring and pointless. Most games does it so damn poorly too. In general being evil means being a mindless douchebag in games. When I play evil I go for the profitable options, not the douchy ones. Sure I'll save your daughter as long as you pay up. I get money from saving her and nothing from letting her die, good or evil the choice is simple. But games always gives me good points for doing that.

Mass Effect doesn't have good vs. evil, you're always good. Paragon tries to reason and save everyone. Renegade doesn't gamble with humanity. Admittedly they sometimes abandon it and revert back to nice vs. douchy, where paragon is nice and renegade douchy, but overall they do it fairly well.

I always intend to go evil, but end up going good because I just really can't get myself to do evil things.

Though I did pick one or two Renegade chat options in Mass Effect. Renegade chat options are usually way more sarcastic than Paragon options. And they make Shepard sound less like a dork when he's talking to Ashley. Ashley's Paragon chat options are just... Painful. (Note that I mean Paragon and Renegade as in what chat option is at the top and at the bottom of the list. I'm not referring to Charm and Intimidate options)

Good, although in something like Mass Effect 1/2 I end up pretty even on the renegade/paragon scale.

I do find it exceptionally difficult to be bad in RPGs; I just end up being good again!

I like being good the first time, as generally people react to you better, and you look better (a la Fable). But when I'm finished the game, I will replay the game, and Eat ze babies!
