Assasin, Thief, or "stealthy bugger", but also mixed with a Beserker when shit gets hairy. Skyrim Example; I liked to stealth around, either with an arrow or I'd coem up behidn them with my twin Deadric maces and konk 'em on the head.

I like to mix it up and play all sort of characters, but my favorite would have to be a pure mage. Nothing quite as satisfying as turning heavily armored opponents into ash with a few spells. I also like the idea of "pursuit of knowledge". I don't mind saying I love playing a mage who is evil or at least somewhat crazy.

I prefer the Mage/Warrior mix. Yeah, I may not as nimble as a rogue or thief, but it's a good chance that they'll die before they can kill me.

As a second, a Warrior/Rogue mix can easily get out of almost all situations.

Usually rogues because I like building up to each target more fulfilling than just mowing stuff down indiscriminately.
I also like mages tho if the spells are sufficiently diverse and not just "deal damage with fire! With ice! Lightning!".

Protect and serve for me, with as much armor and sword between me and my opponents as allowed :)

If you play PNP RPGs theres only one real answer for this.
Fuck those wizards and their fancy hats and arcane knowledge, you bust out spells with the power of rock n' roll. You can also beat their ass in a brawl, and get all the bitches afterwards.

In videogames however... I donno, the knight I guess. Videogames aren't cool enough for bards.

I took magic specialist .... I love to dive into a part of magic and get awesome at it.
The more stealth in it, the better. I actually love playing a scoundrel, but it has to be a caster.

NECROMANCER ftw (and I get to be a lich *muahahahahahah*)

I always liked being a jack of all trades right now my Skyrim guy Is a mage who uses swords and a crossbow as well as magic and can pick locks and charm his way out of anything else.

I like playing characters that pretend to be other types of characters. Or hiding the other side of the ____/____ class.

Generally I like fighter/mages, not really using magic around the rest of the party and eventually using feats like Still Spell and Silent Spell to do things when the party IS around.

Always good to have an ace up one's gauntlet.

I prefer sneaky-stabby types in videogames, but in pen&paper RPGs I usually play a mage or an otherwise nerdy character (depending on the setting).

I usually play as a jack of all trades mage, but my favorite combo ever has been a priest & status effect mage combo. I've only ever been able to do this in FF Tactics, but that character was unstoppable. I could keep all the other party members healed, I could revive myself if I did fall I combat. I could cast Holy & seriously fuck things up or I could sit back & annoy the enemy by putting them to sleep, blinding them or turn them into chickens. Sadly I've not found another game that lets me do this.

Barbarian.

I always liked to smash things with a double handed axe, preferably 2 of them.

Priests all the way. Everyone wants to have one around, it appeals to my nurturing side, and I get hardly any competition! Win win!

As long as it isn't even remotely human/ is barely human-like, I love trying all of the classes/ archetypes, and developing racial customs and forging new identities for monstrous races through said classes.

A pacifist holy minotaur, for example. Or a Gnoll monk, who has perverted the learned disciplines and martial arts. Or a lizard man/Asabis, who prefers human finery in all it's forms, and has become a scribe of ancient battles and combat styles.

Mind you, I'm talking tabletop/D&D roleplay. In videogames, I usually play a warrior type first, then really tuck in with a ranged/wizard type. But I still try to play something as far from human as possible!

I like ranged damage. There's a very good reason the longbow spent so long as one of the battlefield's most devastating weapons.

I, for one, enjoy playing the swashbuckling, cunning Bard who combines clever use of magic, a good bluff, and fancy sword play to leave all my enemies in utter befuddlement.

I like mages, but I don't find very many rpgs that actually make them feel as powerfull as they should. Maybe I was spoiled with my first rpg being Dragon Age: Origins, which actually made it make sense for the mages to be feared. They were so powerfull and could obliterate those Darspawn.

What I generally end up being though, is a ranger. A sneaky ranger if I can help it. I love archery. Why get up close with a sword when you could put an arrow through their throat at 100 yards? Also Skyrim stealth archer(need I say more).
