Polls are annoying since every three threads are a goddamn poll and they dont really promote discussion. I think there should be a poll subforum separate from everything else.

Do you agree? When polls are made a lot of the time the thread will degrade to people popping in and saying " i like this the most and i voted for it" and bam, they are gone and there is no constructive arguments anywhere in sight.

Feel free to disagree with me in any way, its just really hard to find good discussion in a forum full of polls.

I think your thread is lacking due to its distinct lack of a poll...

But where would the "poll" dancers go?!?! D:

Seriously though I'm not really bothered by a thread having/not having a poll and I think a special subforum for polls is unnecessary.

Would be hypocritical if i had a poll on this thread. When you have a poll thread people pop in vote, and then bugger off and dont contribute since voting should be good enough. But really it feels lacking dont you think?

Well people pop in on regular threads anyway, it's just you can see how many have on a poll. There's nothing wrong with them, and it makes people's opinions clear, so a subforum is completely unnecassary.

Irony is a delicious tool you must learn to use. Just this week I was assigned to give a reason why Hitler should be inducted into some type of World War 2 Hall of Fame (Doesn't actually exist, all just BS for an assignment.) I decided that I simply had to cover Hitler due to the fact that I was raised jewish and the school knows it. Irony is delicious medicine.

Sad how everyone is asking for a poll XD. But I think people should stop making polls for threads that don't need them, or polls that doesn't have anything to do with the thread itself...

I mean, a thread about God of War does NOT need a "Do you like ice cream" poll... I'm so sick of these... And yes, I do...

The polls just encourage lurkers to contribute in a small way rather than no way. Posters will post in a topic they find interesting.

The only polls that annoy me are ones that use an "other" option like a crutch (asking a question with far more than eight answers).

What do you have against pol-

No, polls don't annoy me, they don't stop you contributing, they give a chance to contribute moreso.

The problem is that people make it a poll for the sake of making it a poll, rather than to establish something useful through public voting.

You usually see a few good arguments on any thread with a poll that poses a question actually warranting a discussion, I think perhaps adding the poll is even helpful in showing a thread newcomer the current stance on the topic as far as members go.

How is that not ironic....?
for something to be "ironic" it has to be unexpected.

"I think that it's ironic that this thread could do with a poll...."

its not ironic because its a thread about why polls are annoying. it was pretty obvious that there wouldnt be a poll attached.

this is an example of ironic

a woman from NY city moves to LA to find a husband, she meets a man and they get married, it turns out that he just moved from the same part of NY city also..

this is ironic because. the reader would not expect or predict that the person she marries was also from NY..

Irony has nothing to do with being unexpected, it's to do with being against the entire point.

Your example is not ironic, it's surprising, it would be ironic if she had moved away because there were no good guys there.
