And the efforts of girl gamers everywhere to be taken seriously is set a back another 20 years. Good job ladies, good job. ¬_¬
I seem to be confused. Just how does this have any harm what-so-ever?

I have yet to see a girl being proud of being a gamer. It's almost painful to me to see how many actually want to hide it as if it's some disease. Maybe it's the excess male attention, but it just disappoints me on a deeper level.
I've never understood that. I work in a video games store so people assume I play games anyway and I love being on the "geeky" side of things. The girls I've worked with are gamers too and are awesome people. I'd never go around broadcasting it like it's some brand new thing ("look at me! I'm a girl and I play games! Aren't I great?!" - winds me up to a great extent). I don't use a headset when playing online though, but that's more 'cause I'm a social hermit and don't really like chatting to people I don't know over a microphone.

Sometimes I'll get the douche that assumes I don't know what I'm talking about and asks the males at work (one bloke didn't even look at me once after I beckoned him to my till and went straight to the guy filing games in the drawers behind me, never mind the fact that I've been there for four years and am an assistant manager), and I think that's what might put some girls off - some people assuming they're bullshitting, don't know what they're talking about and only play Barbie's Horse Adventures.

I think that's where forums are awesome - there're a lot of females here who know what they're talking about and enjoy chatting about games without hiding it.

EDIT:

I seem to be confused as to why everyone seems to be hating on this idea? I mean if you don't like porn, then I guess I could understand, but is there another reason(s)?
Because it makes all female gamers look like whores who only game to draw attention to themselves and are using gaming to draw in the huge male demographic that may be interested in this. All of the girls I've met who love gaming are NOTHING like this and all this article does is suggest every girl who is "serious" about gaming has huge breasts and is more than willing to show them on camera.

Evans came up with the initial idea to combine pornography and game coverage,
I bet that took her hours...

Especially after that lady with the pneumatic boobs has been doing it on YouTube for sometime.

Seriously, how does she even see her own feet?
That's not that misshannahminx thing is it?

Well how are girl gamers supposed to be taken seriously when they're represented by a couple of porn stars?

Just the same as before? These girls don't "represent" girl gamers, just as the same way women porn stars don't "represent" women.

And also, it seems as if you guys look down on porn stars.

To quote the creeper in Robocop, "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Mostly, this is going to be a short-time thing. So far, it seems there are only two girls doing this. The site's going to need tons of videos to stay viable, which means more filming, more editing, and so forth. Do they have writers for their walk-throughs and faqs? I mean, videos are great for some things, but they're really going to need so written articles to match their spoken narrative, or else it just becomes a pain in the ass.

Porn is becoming main-stream though--to all the nay-sayers out there. Parody porn (for those who have never seen the Big Lewbowski parody porn, or the Batman stuff) is pretty funny, while "getting the job done," as were. There will be an audiance for this, if they have the content to sate it.

As a long-time fan of various reviewers/LP videos, I say, "why not?"

All in all, good luck and god-bless. At least it sex, and not mindless violence.

Maybe someone should them that, 'cause they're sure acting like they do.

Also of course I look down on Porn Stars! It's called dignity and self-respect, they have none.

If they turn out to actually be serious gamers (not the fakes who just keep on flashing while some dude is playing off-screen), then this might actually be...

I'm sorry, I can't come up with a word without being scoffed at. The only thing I request is that they actually play. That would be very nice, thanks.

The Escapist will soon face some tough competition. We will know the answer to the ultimate question: Do we, gamers, prefer Yahtzee or Boobs?

Um, what? In no way are they giving off the vibe that they represent girl gamers. Hell, it seems more like a phone-sex line but with games, so if you have a problem with phone sex lines, then I understand.

And another Um, what? People doing porn makes them lose their dignity and self-respect? Since when? Do you look down on sex in general?

So I decided to check up both on Google, and it turns out Misti Dawn is actually true to her word about video games. Alana Evans...ehh. She isn't that oriented, but she does have a basic framework.

Strange what Google and Twitter can do.

I'm sure this isn't the first time I've seen this story. But since I never heard anything after that the first time, I expect this will be an equally brief sensation.

Well that was the impression I got anyway.

Only when it becomes a profession and/or a hobby.

Kind of like that one site that lets you pay to play with girls.

Good god was that depressing...
That's actually something I completely forgot about, does anyone still actually use that site anymore?

Did anyone go there in the first place?

Back on topic though, this is...more than a bit depressing. Considering how gamers are already viewed as being a bunch of emotionally and socially challanged man-children the last thing we really need is for people to publicly try capitalising on that (and more than likely reinforce that stereotype).

This isn't even getting into the fact that there isn't really much in the way of a reason to combine video games with porn (for the same reason I'm fairly certain that it wouldn't really work if you tried to mix porn with driving or juggling).

Most video games require you to have the use of both hands and for you to be focusing on what is happening on the screen at all times so trying to actually utilise this in game is essentially pointless (and if it's actually intended for spectators rather than players then it's essentially just a porn site where the naked women play Xbox rather than have sex).

Has no-one stopped to think about why most porn games have failed commcercially?

I don't see where or how you got that, but ok I guess.

Because sex makes people bad? Or doing sex as a job is bad? Most people who do porn, actually enjoy doing it, not just for a paycheck.

I also can't see how you would look down on someone who gives viewing pleasure. Same way as you don't look down on sports stars. I hate sports, but that doesn't mean the people who play them and get paid for them are any less of a person.

If they are sellouts, now that is a different story but not one for here.

It's about time. We need topless everything. Why the Naked News isn't it a widely available cable network yet is beyond me. This is America, right? 2011. Where is my 24 nude news network? Where are the naked women and flying cars and and hoverboards? It's a step in the right direction, but still.
