Why should I?Bill Bread said:Forget whether it's voluntary or not
That's the core of my argument.
It doesn't matter if a deal is shitty or not if you're not forced to buy it.

So wait, the Mann-conomy was that came around a few months ago was advertised before people bought Team Fortress 2?Bill Bread said:Nope, still stands. The previous Valve titles had a hat store. And the 'hat store' was advertised beforehand, to my knowledge.JeanLuc761 said:I'm not sure that analogy really works. Charging for armor customization in Halo: Reach would be charging for a feature that was standard in the previous titles and would therefore be completely wrong.
What Valve has done is ADDED a feature and have decided to charge for it. Character customization and gestures was not advertised in the marketing for the game; nobody is getting ripped off here because nobody went into the game EXPECTING to be able to do that stuff.
Would I pay for it? Hell no, it's a stupid price.Bill Bread said:You think charging someone up to 10% of the price of the full game for a single 'shop item' isn't a rip off? Forget whether it's voluntary or not, that isn't what defines if something's a shitty deal or not.Legion said:is not ripping people off in any way as it is entirely cosmetic.
Couldn't care less. You couldn't care less. If you "could care less" then that means you care.Sober Thal said:I could care less about DLC. Day 1 or day 50.
Fire is actually orange.Xzi said:No, I'm not talking about the paint job, I'm literally taking about fucking stickers. That's what this is. The game looks prettier than hell already, so the good paint job is there. If you choose to customize it further, as a six-year-old girl might do with her Barbie, good on you I suppose. Me? I'll take the fire-red Ferrari as it is.Bill Bread said:If you'd paid for a good paint job and then you didn't get one, then yeah, that's a reasonably good analogy.Xzi said:You're right, it was a terrible analogy. The rear parking sensors actually change the way your car works in some small way. It's more like paying $5000 for a car and then complaining about not getting some wicked awesome flame stickers to put on the side. Derp.
I hate you so much right now. In Australia I've seen new copies of Portal 2 going for like $90-100, and unless there has been some radical shift no-one noticed, I thought our dollar was going pretty strong in the international market.Bill Bread said:I'm entitled to be irate if I'd spent £30 (or more) on a game and then find that there's £28 more of stuff that I wasn't allowed. It's a slap in the face. Valve used to be the flagship developer for PC, now its image is well and truly sullied.
Steam has a much better price of about 50$, and I bought it for 45$ when it was still in pre-order.Biosophilogical said:I hate you so much right now. In case you haven't guessed, I'm going to be doing a lot of exploring next week (I have a week holiday) to find a better price.
1 HOUR?Blondi3 said:Have not played the second one but the first one took me just over an hour to beat. I then spent about 2-3h messing around for achievements and the challenges. I doubt the second one will be much longer than that.
GIJames said:Don't take my word for it, but apparently a large portion of the trolls are part of a group from 4chan just bombing the score for the hell of it.

ON THE FIRST RUN?
What are you, some kind of robot?
And for most people, the SP campaign lasted about 7-8 hours.
Eh I didn't find it that hard. I was playing lot's of games at the time and was super persistent. I found the game pretty fun even though it was short and easy. Awesome concept.Dr_Steve_Brule said:1 HOUR?Blondi3 said:Have not played the second one but the first one took me just over an hour to beat. Actually I find it funny that the OP calls them trolls without having played the game himself. So he says that the 'trolls' are wrong without being able to judge it by himself. Thank you sir, I agree with you fully. Not everyone on the internet is a troll, someone does have different opinions than me.Bill Bread said:Funny how people substitute 'troll' for 'someone who doesn't think what I think'.
