Portal 2 Writer: Enough With the Cake Jokes Already

I'm glad to hear it. Any attempt to include more cake jokes or fill the end credits with another humerous ditty would come across as, well

rehashing and old success

That deos make me wonder what they will do with the end credits. Without a song, they would seem rather humourless and empty but on the other hand, include a song and it will be with hindsight we contemplate the terrifying overuse that would be likely to follow...

EDIT: Anyway it fit's that it's not included. GLaDOS's cake mixture core was removed and incinerated. It'd make sense they'd she'd no longer mention it. And any cake remaining would have rotted away.

THANK YOU. I agree wholeheartedly. Plus, the joke doesn't work. There was a freakin cake at the end of the game. It's not funny. It really isn't, and I'm so happy the developer thinks the same way.

That wasn't the joke at all.

The joke is that GLaDOS had only a very minimal notion of human emotions, and firmly believed that luring Chell along with cake would make her more than willing to go along with the experiments.

Never mind that GLaDOS only knew how to create something that looked like a cake, not an actual cake.

The cake was never a "LOLRANDOM" joke either, presumably rat man went insane over being stuck there for so long, and having GlaDos string him along he snapped and started fantisizing about the cube and obsessing over the cake.

So I loved it for showing GlaDos' inability to understand humans, and its abscence would hardly be noticeable, because she could replace it with a puppy in a hat and it'd have the same effect.

I never got all the love for the companion cube, its only in 1 level of the game and I didn't notice the Hearts till about halfway thought the level. The amount everyone hyped it up I thought it would have some kind of impact.
