He sings at the end. He abused the "Still Alive" song in the same way that he abused the game mechanics.

There was some serious witchcraft in there! Sweet stuff, and he really loved that edge glitch/save glitch thing that gets him outside of the map! Also, loved the end, lol :) Who'd have thought Valve bothered making that mechanical arm a physical object?

I remember where I'd seen this guy before. He'd done a "speed run" of Half Life 2 that was completely worthless because he was glitching himself behind the map almost exclusively. Imagine doing Route Kanal, where you're running across the clouds, whilst all the content is far below on the ground.

Very Impressive. I'd like to see him do the whole game in a single take tho.
if you watch his commentary videos, to get the companion cube level the way he wanted he had to do that level 6,500 times and got to the lift twice (the first time he didn't think it was fast enough) so doing the entire game in one would be near impossible.

also, to all the people complaining that he cheated or it shouldn't count, he simply used the game mechanics to his advantage. he never used no clip, never used god mode or anything. he simply used portals and the glitches that are inevitable when you make a game mechanic like this.

In the part he was porting all around the load zones? I almost forgot that he wasn't nightcrawler. Nice video, yessir.
EDIT: I thought the entire point of watching speed runs was to check out all the potential exploits? All of the "official" (Speed Demos Archive, that is) zelda ones use at least a couple of glitches, I see no difference with what they're doing and what he's doing. And what he's doing is fucking awesome.

He really butchers Still Alive at the end, it's excrutiating! I don't have a problem with abusing glitches for speed runs, makes them more exciting. Would like to know if he used computer assist though. Nobody ever does a speedrun legit any more, would be nice to see.

This man is a god. Pity I would never have the time of effort to achieve something like this. Still cool.

The record is [sub]sorta[/sub] legit, I suppose.

I'm not the type to exploit glitches for any purpose, though. Which is really hard to resist in Morrowind.

In fact, I generally hate glitchers with a passion. Even when they glitch single player games. So, all of you people who actively try to break the game tend to piss me off.
where exactly did you draw the line with the glitches in this video? was ABHing too much glitching? or when he goes through a portal, shoots a portal and quickly goes back so he gets 2 portals in places he shouldn't?

personaly, i feel the fact that this guy has been trying to get this whole thing this perfect for so long, doing everything insanely fast over and over that he should get some recognition for this.

I'd like to see him do it without cheating (exploiting glitches is cheating....so i've heard....from many people) but yeah I'd like to see him do it without exploiting

that was awesome :D

I don't mind people exploiting a game in single player one bit, just in multiplayer that annoys me. So kudos to this guy for that really fast, really confusing speed run :)

Wow, I don't remember/didn't notice that you get dragged when your on the floor up top.
They changed the ending with a patch right before Portal 2 was officially announced.

Wonder if he cheated.
He did gave his Portal gun a different texture, I wonder how he got it.

Still, it was an unbelievable sight. But he could do some work on his singing, though.

Wow.

That was some impressive stuff, I know some of you people don't like these exploits but they take some absolutely pixel perfect precision to pull off. That takes some skills.

I'm conflicted - on one hand, I don't think it counts as a record if you circumvent the puzzles by glitching past them rather than just solving them quickly. On the other hand, the whole point of Portal is to walk through walls and otherwise get to places by unconventional means, he just took it to a higher extreme.

For multiplayer I agree with you, but why do you care what people do in a single-player game? If you're not going to buy the game for me, you have no say in what I do with it. And if I want to post my exploits on youtube for all to see, you have the option of not watching.

"Now that you are in control of both portals; this next test could take a very, VERY long time..."

Yeah, all of 4 seconds.
