Possible Beyond Good & Evil 2 Footage Leaks

What looks to be the first footage of Beyond Good & Evil 2 has leaked to the internet, revealing a tantalizing glimpse at something like a cross between The Bourne Ultimatum, Mirror's Edge and Assassin's Creed. But in the future.

Spotted on a French Sonic the Hedgehog Kotaku [http://www.eversonic.fr/V6/], this brief trailer may very well be our first taste of what Ubisoft and Michel Ancel have to offer in Beyond Good & Evil 2.

There's no way of knowing if it's for real or not, but the main character of the clip sure looks a whole lot like B&G protagonist Jade as she appeared in the last teaser [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkCXE1l5MVI]: short black hair, white tank top, green pants and cloth tied to her right arm. Then again, I've made plenty of mistakes about women when viewing them exclusively from behind.

Jade or not, the brief clip (which looks so damn pristine that it's likely just a proof of concept and not actual gameplay) finds the heroine on the run from somebody who wants her dead. In an escape reminiscent of the rooftop chase from The Bourne Ultimatum, she leaps through alleyways, runs through people's apartments, uses people as springboards and pulls off some fancy parkour then makes her escape by jumping off a roof to grab onto a helicopter. Just like Faith in Mirror's Edge.

If this isn't Beyond Good & Evil 2, all I have to say is the real thing has a lot to live up to, because this looks mighty impressive.

Ok...That looked a lot like Jade. But that did not look like Beyond Good and Evil.

They may well have added freerunning to the game (it's certainly not a bad idea) but that doesn't explain the realism, the lack of animal people and the not so future universe that it seemed to be taking place in.

Either this is something else and someones ripped off Jade (her behind at least), or Beyond Good & Evil 2 has thrown everything out of the window.

I wouldn't blame them. The first game didn't do too good.

EDIT: I've just realized. Thats not a stick, thats a samurai sword. I'm pretty sure that isn't jade

That definately does look amazing. Makes me want to go back and play the original.... assuming I still have it. I hope the end product matches that.

Looks great, although I'm not sure if thats in-gameplay - seems abit scripted to me, but maybe I'm pleasantly wrong.

I have tried to play it but sadly the crappy resolution does something to my eyes on this computer and after about 15-30 minutes, I get headaches and a feeling of sickness. Bizzare I know!

You're right, the gameplay looks nothing like Beyond Good & Evil, but that's fine by me.

I'd wager that it does look kinda futuristic, at least the helicopters do, or at least look not of this world.

As far as I can tell, this is definitely India - aside from the general vibe, check the cow that shows up 2/3 of the way through and the woman in Indian dress that's in the kitchen that "Jade" is running through toward the end.

Looks like Jade, but the whole parkour thing is sorta BG&E's style except amplified way more than it ever was in the first game. All that being said... Damn. She puts even the opening chase of Casino Royal to shame.

Perhaps you should rent the PS2 version? That's what I have, as when this game came out on the PC, I had a Mac.

Anyone else notice something wrong with the way the helicopter went from hover to fly mode?

Cookie to the first one to spot it.

The only thing I've noticed was a dude who was already on the copter when the heroine jumped aboard and some models, which seemed as the luggage, disappeared as soon as the copter started moving. Other than that, I didnt notice anything wrong! :p What did you have in mind?

Nope, try again.

Well, if you don't, now is the time to invest! Ps2 for only $99 US! <- way of the future.
Cheers :)

Interesting that you spotted that.
It's one of those things your mind tends to gloss over.
I had to look at it a few times...

But... Since hovering would require downward thrust (counteracting gravity), rotating the propellers to face backwards would result in... Backwards thrust. XD.

So... At the very least the fans would have had to very rapidly change their direction of rotation as they turned back...

I'd be happy if BG&E2 became the game that Mirror's Edge should have been. ME was a great concept, horrible execution IMO. However, it doesn't entirely make sense given the ending of BG&E. Didn't she realize she had some kind of magic cosmic powers or something? I forget exactly. If it is Jade, perhaps it's a prequel?
