Haha I got a warning that my post was short when I answered simply "Yes :)" to the question: "Do you think Ezio and Leonardo from Assassin's Creed 2 are in a homosexual relationship".

But I really didn't see the need to elaborate :(........

when i said that NASA is wasting millions of dollars on their space research and that that money should be used for better purposes ;P
I agree with you. We are in a debt. Put NASA on hold and send that money to China.
Either that, or spend it on porn. Both are worthy causes.

Very recently, in the Bioware v Relic stuff on MM, I got my ass chewed saying that KoToR 2 was by all rights and means still Bioware's. It is their IP that they farmed out to Obsidian, so therefore it is theirs. If Obsidian went under, and Bioware chooses to reproduce the game (update graphics, add new content, etc and then re-release) they have to put their name somewhere on it. Just like when Squenix reproduced FF1 & 2 for the Gameboy, instead of putting Square on the game, they put Square Enix.

Followed by vehement fanboy name calling and many dirty words for calling ME2 and DA:O bad RPG's. All while backing up my claim. The responses to me consisted of long, drawn out epithets against me, my mother, and apparently that I have no father or something of that nature, in posts and PM's.

I don't regret a bit of it either, and their anger was like food for the soul.

My first post ever consisted solely of:

This.

EDIT: There are apparently people who report you for one word/syllable responses, except sometimes, I see tons of people get away with it.

Also, outdated spoilers seemed to warrant a warning. And by outdated, I mean like "The Titanic sinks", or "Rosebud is his sled".

Exactly what it says on the Tin.

Are there any posts you ever had that has garnered a lot of negative feedback?
I usualy only post in threads that I have quite a bit of interest in the subject topic, and my opinion is usualy backed up with at least some authority / evidence so i guess it's rare i get large ammounts of negative feedback... disregarding trolls etc..

Not liking anime. Not liking Warhammer 40000. Liking anthropomorphs (shut up, they're cool). Liking humanity. Defending United States of America. Defending religious freedom (as in, freedom to practice any religion you want or none at all). The list goes on and on and on. Lynching mobs with torches and pitchforks are just unable to get enough of me, it seems.

Hmm, I once posted about Captain America being a questionable idea in the current political landscape.
As an aside: i always thought that Captain America's blind patriotism served the ideals of his country rather than the government currently in power (which means he'll turn on a government trying to corrupt these ideals) - maybe he wasn't always like that, but you get my point, right?
Yes, indeed. Makes perfect sense. I said that his ideals seem out-of-place in today's society without being in some way against the Iraqi situation. I was also suggesting that going against the chain-of-command for a reason apart from the stated movie reason "he was really eager to kill [Arab] bad-guys" would be more interesting. Ended up being an unpopular opinion among an audience which apparently consists of a lot of military and military-relatives.

I mean, goodness sakes, you can say stuff about Christians around here that you could never get away with saying about pretty much any other religious group.
The question is: are they saying things about Christianity and the establishment thereof? Or are they making statements about Christians specifically? First one is more valid than the second (generally speaking).
Regardless of which it is, I think you'll find others perfectly capable of saying things about other religious groups. Whether or not it is relevant is the question. Buddhists don't end up in the news very often, and we don't really get exposure to fundamentalist Buddhists. On the other hand, in the two countries most of the Escapist crowd is from (US and UK) Christianity is the largest religion. It's only natural that Christianity gets attacked more than other religions.
Islam is a very valid target as well, but due to its more distant nature, many people end up being unfamiliar with it, while being intimately familiar with Christianity. Don't feel too put-upon; atheists are still the most distrusted group in America, even more than those gay and black people.

I don't take kindly to people who don't take kindly 'round here. ^^

Ok... so I haven't gotten any flak yet... but that's usually because I try to avoid pissing people off, and I'm very conflict shy.
[sub]I know you're probably joking, so: lol : )[/sub]

Nah, kidding. They're not art, UNLESS they are so well designed in absolutely EVERY aspect, not just visually, that they can qualify to be classified as a from of art.

Also, on art and games, try making an animated M.C. Escher avatar.
Painful.
As.
Fuck.

I in reality am Anti-American. This mostly occured when I was serving oversea's in Bosnia when the invasion was occuring in Iraq. And well, I think it's complete bullshit and I question the United States honour(and it's citizens). The kicker is I have information and examples to back my views, and my angst is reasonable and sound, but pretty raw. Lotta American's take offense to it, its been almost a decade and I have learned to address issues in a more tactful manner...but it wasn't always so.

It wasn't here (I do make at least an attempt to behave myself) but on another forum I got a huge backdraft when I posted on the way the media treats casualties of war.

I don't know how it is in the other countires involved in Iraq/Afghanistan, but in the UK a pretty large number of media outlets will refer to every single casualty as a "Hero". In my opinion, they are not. They are just people who are doing a job, and death is a constant risk in said job. They knew this when they signed up. Being blown up by a roadside bomb is not particularly heroic; going back to save a wounded comrade at significant risk to your own life is. In my opinion, claiming that everyone who dies out there is a hero diminishes those who do commit acts of genuine heroism.

A lot of people assumed I was disrespecting all those dead soldiers; I felt that they were giving too much respect to some and not enough to others. Some people assumed I was making a commentary on whether we should even be at war, and I drew flak for that too.

I said that we SHOULDN'T brutally murder pedophiles and rapists, and instead imprison, re-educate and re-rehabilitate them into society, so they can serve the remainder of their days trying to make up for their heinous crime...

a lot of people didn't like that.

I stated the TRUFAKT that everyone bullies/is nasty at some stage in their life, and apparently the Escapist is full of holy denizens who have never said a harsh word in their lives.
haha, I saw that, and I also saw that unwind, I completely agreed with your opinion though, but I stayed quiet for fear of getting burned as well. (I had already used up both my flame retardant vests for the day in Bioware v Relic and Zynga v Square Enix).

I remember saying I found General Ramm a really tough boss in Gears Of War. I had the teremity not to play with a friend or have figured out the gamefaqs strategy that requires you keeping a weapon I hated and was useless on that specific level.

You'd swear I went to their house and took a poop in their shower.

I also got called out because I told someone threatening to kill themselves on the forum to basically nut up or shut up.
I have little time for people who threaten suicide and use it as an emotional lever. It comes from personal experience of serious suicidal people and this kind of person who is just crying out for help but goes about it in a horrible way that traumatises their family. But that kinda thing is hard to get across on a forum where everyone is an expert in everything. Seeing it on a web forum about games just got my blood up a bit.

I guess if the shitweasel had killed themselves I would probably be on fox news being shouted at, being called a "cannibal killer who assumes his victims identities" just because I once played Kirby's dreamland.
