well i posted a topic called "the hippocrisy of horror movies" needless to say the spelling and grammer nuts on the escapist flamed me to hell until i changed the title, i think some even refused to read the topic and just posted about my terrible spelling and how i should have been crucifyied yadda yadda yadda
You start sentences with capital letters so it should be "Well". Also, its "grammar", not "grammer", "I" instead of "i" and "crucified" instead of "crucifyied".

Also, why did you go offtopic and talk about the intelligence of dolphins and the rise of Hitler instead of answering to the topic?

Also, first. :D
Sigh.

Anyway, I once got major flak for posting a white supremacist website and asking if anyone else was as shocked by it as me. Apparently this deserved a shit load of abuse because I dared question free speech.
Just, what?

Every time I've posted defending gun ownership it seems like everyone comes out of the woodwork to take a piece out of my hide. To be fair though, those threads all devolve into dung-flinging right quick regardless so I do my best to ignore and avoid them at all cost now.

Also, whenever I've mentioned being an anthropomorphics fan and defending that it tends to get really ugly really fast.
I see it as the responsibility of gun owners to help enlighten people about gun ownership. After all its the silly politicians that the ignorant majority elect that gun owners are stuck dealing with and the ignorant stupid laws that come out of it.

For example the Canadian Liberal government banning all guns in .25 and .32 because of the ignorant belief that those guns are the ones killing people the most, while accidently neutering the olympic team.

Or another brilliant idea of the long gun registry, which was supposed to only cost 2 million per year. Which now costs over 1 billion at the time of the last audit 5 years ago.

Sorry for rant.

I'm on probation now...I've been getting...praise. for that post though.

I catch flak for loving FF8, finding Ocarina of Time to be "meh", and understanding that businesses exist to make money. THE HORROR!

For declaring Treyarch a VASTLY superior developer compared to Infinity Ward.

That one time I defended big oil companies. That didn't go over well, but I stand by my claim.
Good on you, man! I'd defend them, too!

Surprisingly, no. I operate on the inverse of the unwritten rules of the internet. Meaning I act how I should act to other people over the internet, while being a complete dick to their face. I'm a cool guy like that.

EDIT:

Good to know, seeing as I'm a black atheist...

Are there any posts you ever had that has garnered a lot of negative feedback?
- OP

Firstly;
I was on topic.
Secondly;
What's this about Hitler and dolphins?
Thirdly;
I take it the reason you quoted me is in jest? A lack of spelling and punctuation skills does not imply a lack of intellgence. ;-)

Wow. People that actually believe in gun ownership. Thank God, I'm not alone.

OT: I've never said anything offensive enough to get flamed. The one time I wrote on the differences between Creationism and Evolutionism, I was expecting flaming (I'm a Christian, and what I wrote was VERY pro-Creationism). However, I made sure that my argument was sound and well written, so nobody could go after holes in it (or the spelling), so even if they didn't agree with me, they wouldn't take offense that I was talking about something I know nothing about.
I guess people figured it'd be easier to flame on somebody who hadn't written three long, detailed paragraphs. I can't blame them at all. Of course, it could have been since my post was one of the few actually discussing the differences and facts between the two ideaologies, and that everything else was basically "I'M RITE FATHEAD" followed by "NO YUR NOT YOU STOOPUD PRIK".
Since that's the only religious or political posting I've made on the Escapist, I've not had much chance to get flamed. I'm pretty alright with that.

There was that "Adult Escapists?" thread a while back. But that was only really because of a few arrogant people.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything that stands out.
I guess the time I claimed that there's nothing skilful about killing someone with a gun. One guy blatantly called me a fag and only got a 1 day probation. I got three days for implying someone was arrogant in the first thread I mentioned. Hoorah for consistency.

I once got accused of being a worker for health insurance companies because I opposed the health care bill. I lost it because I was actually quite peeved about being unemployed. Now that I am preparing to have a big boy job, I try not to take people's ignorance so personally.

Haha... oh wow... let's see:
  • - Negatively reviewing Halo
    - Positively reviewing Mirror's Edge
    - Negatively reviewing Final Fantasy VIII
    - Merely discussing the concept of what goes into making a "fanboy"
    - Culturally analyzing sex and violence in video games
    - Comparing God of War to Devil May Cry
    [sub]Lots of "OMG ur dum ther toootaly diffrnt!" in that one[/sub]
Yeah come to think of it, I've done 20+ some odd editorials (at the speed of about 4 a week) and I get flamed for pretty much displaying any opinion at all. Welcome to the internet I suppose. I do find it eternally ironic that all of my posts are editorial and unabashedly opinion-laden, and I get called out constantly for not being "fair and balanced" enough.

Good times.

Disagreeing with the OP in a news post always gets me at least 3 angry replies.

Saying "pirates are people you morally disagree with" instead of nodding in agreement and shouting "MAIM KILL BURN" whenever somebody brings them up just to have a target to yell at rarely goes over well too.

Not being much of a contributor, I don't think I've ever received much flak for any posts I've made. I try to keep my head down a lot, and try not to post up my opinions, because there will always be someone to disagree.

But I think the only time I've gotten major flak was admitting that I liked some Dragonforce songs. *shrugs*

That's stupid. The forums are there for you to post your opinions - you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks.
