Bioshock, superb aesthetic, awesome nods to many schools of thought, from Rand to Nietzsche.
Great premise, great presentation... But the gameplay kinda bored me.

Prototype, amazing sense of freedom.

L.A Noire, made me feel like a real detective at least twice and looked amazing.

Dead Space 1&2, great design, great art direction.

Far Cry 2, really fun fire physics, very good immersion.

Just Cause 2, great feeling of freedom, stunning environments from the air.

Dante's Inferno... (headdesk) has... (headdesk) decent... (headdesk) combat... (headdesk) for a... (headdesk) DMC clone.
I mean, at least it wasn't like Van Helsing
(headdesk followed by the sound of wood breaking)
I just called a game worse than Dante's Inferno. I'm gonna go die now.

The motion Capture in L.A. Noire was very realistic! And the detective elements were interesting!

Sonic Unleashed had some very cool cinematics (such as the opening one)!

The Assassin's Creed games re-created their settings brilliantly!

Fable III had John Cleese in & alot of other great British actors I recognised!

GTA IV you could finally swim in the water!

Sonic Heroes is probably closer in formula to the Genesis Sonic games than any other 3D-world Sonic game has been.

Sonic CD's theme song is pretty awesome.

The intro screen for Secret of Mana is a beautiful lure.

Invisible War made Human Revolution feel a lot more gratifying.

The original Resident Evil had a really great Rifftrax. Then again, maybe that was the dub.

This is like gamer therapy, where we're being forced to sit down and talk about the positive aspects of the game that ill-treated us.

Anyway, my penny's worth:

The microwave corridor sequence in MGS4 was pretty damn intense...

Hearts of Iron III.

I dislike most strategy games to an emphatic degree, but the sheer depth and complexity of this game made me feel awed and overwhelmed. Really interesting, check it out.

The Mass Effect games have really nice animations for taking out guns and putting them away again.

Seriously, that's what struck me the most. A lot of games have really terrible animations for getting out weapons. Either the bloody things just appear from nowhere or the character manages some improbable angle with their arms. In Mass Effect, they look really reasonable.

I'm sure I'll think of something else later...

Call of Duty's local multiplayer is a lot of fun, and unlocking new guns and camouflage patterns makes me want to play more.

World of war craft is pretty amazing to be able to hold together and actually create a real culture.

Mirrors Edge: Beautifull game.

I found the gameplay infuriating but love watching the pros do it on youtube.
How do you do that? I start get car sickness in about 4 second if I watch someone else play. Still it is a cool game that tried something different. Amazing soundtrack. And Swedish :D

COD has great multiplayer and a Michael Bay campaign, if that's what you're in the mood for.
Is your avatar from Pushing Daisies?

Final Fantasy tends to have beautiful graphics.

The fanbase of the Modern Warfare series has a mature and open-minded attitude against other players and games.
Quick question, have you actually played the MW games? Specifically the multiplayer?

Dead Island: 4 words. Who do you voodoo?

The Force Unleashed 2: You can chop up storm troopers. :D

RE:Operation Raccoon City: Erm... slant 6 wore a condom while it raped Resident Evil? I guess that's an upside. I kid, I kid. ORC had some nostalgic value and that's worth something.

-Mirror's Edge is gorgeous, has an awesome soundtrack, a reasonably respectable and strong female protagonist (something we can always use more of), and actually tried something new and innovative. It was just extremely frustrating to play.

-Dead Space: Ignition was actually a really interesting idea. I mean, a choose-you-own-adventure motion comic interspersed with minigames and puzzles? I can totally get behind that concept, especially when it's a part of one of my favourite game franchises. It's just that there are a pitiful few minigame types in the whole game, and one of those, the Trace Routes, is something I'm completely terrible at, so I can only get so far in before getting frustrated in giving up.

-Half-Life: Blue Shift not only gave the franchise the complete badass that is Barney Calhoun, but it actually did the "interactive cutscene" sections that Half-Life 2 is so well-known for long before Half-Life 2 did them, and it actually did them fairly well. Like in Half-Life 2, there's actually a unique, named NPC that the player has to interact with, Dr. Rosenburg, who gives us quite a bit of interesting exposition on how the portal technology in the Half-Life world actually works. I'd almost call the whole game a bit ahead if its time in how its narrative plays out. Too bad that beyond that, Blue Shift is just a smaller, less tightly-designed version of Half-Life 1 that, unlike it's much better brother Opposing Force, adds almost nothing else new to the formula.

Star Ocean: TLH is really really pretty.

Oblivion has such beautiful music, especially the opening theme. I could let that play on repeat for hours.
