Preorder Dragon Age 2, Get a Free Signature Edition Upgrade

As for the game itself, I'm torn. I want to like it. I want another great Bioware RPG. But Origins left me flat. I really didn't care for it. It was Neverwinter Nights 3 and despite all the hype about breaking away from traditional fantasy tropes, it really didn't. Dwarves were hardy stonemasons, elves were elegant treefolk, humans had emerged as the world's dominant race. And when it did make a legitimate attempt to get away from that, it stumbled badly, especially when compared to The Witcher, a game that really did offer a dark, gritty, shithole, non-traditional fantasy setting. Dragon Age just wasn't that good, and as much as I want to preorder Dragon Age 2, I just don't know if I can talk myself into it without knowing a lot more about it.

oh, and I know that just because you work for BioWare doesn't mean you would know that, but I'm just going to hope that either you do, or there is someone you can ask quick.

Bioware lists 3 stores on its site, so far its the EA store, Gamestop, and EB Games.

You're not getting free stuff, you're just getting the stuff they're holding hostage in order to get your cash sooner, its blackmail or extortion however you look at it. "give us your money now before anyone reviews the game in case its crap you're already stuck with a horrible game, or you don't get part of it, but if you really want that missing part you can pay us more money for it"

OT: I like all Bioware's games, yet only recently have I discovered them (Previously being a just consol gamer) then I got an Xbox and ME. Then I downloaded KoTOR. Was yet again blown away. Then I played DA:O, safe to say I spent over 24 hours on that game. I have no doubt that they'll continue to please me. Wait... I'm a fanboy, aren't I...

well I suppose you have a point, only one full DA game has been released to date, and I'd like to see them keep making good games for the series that one game started.

I'm interested in how the gameplay is going to change based upon the person telling the legend of Hawke. This seems like an interesting way to tell a story, and create world flavor.

I really like the idea of the traditional rpg elements of picking my characters, race, gender, class, etc. But I'm willing to forgo that for a look at something new and unique.

I will however ask Bioware to make another game like DA:O once this one is done, to give me my rpg elements back. Also, why did they give our characters last names in DA:O if they were just going to call us Warden? They had the last names set, why didn't they do the voice work to make it feel a bit more immersive?

Seeing as I was going to get this release day anyway, I'm pre-ordering on Amazon (supposedly counts) as there's no need for a deposit so if an uber-collectors edition is released I can easily cancel. Also, *cheers* that they're releasing it in the middle of the month so I can get the day off to play

Checking other games and March is going to be expensive with DA2, Crysis 2, Shogun: Total War 2 and Witcher 2 all coming out. DAMN THEM!!

Thats really a disappointment to me, I really liked the first one. Bioware has been making awesome stuff and I'd hate to see them fumble this.

Bear in mind that we haven't seen anything outside of Fereldin or Orlais as of yet. Hell, if this is taking place in Tevinter, I'll be exceedingly happy.

Gotta agree with you there. The art style in particular seems pretty shit.

I also agree just seems like an action game with rpg sprinkled on top.
