infamous is static shock the video game, i prefer cutting people in half

I think it's more like Static the COMIC book hero, which was so far and away superior to that tragedy of a animated series. It was a great deal more serious, and a bit more graphic. Lol that was back during the Milestone D.C. attempt to create a "black comic book studio" which failed miserably when the top 2 characters were "Icon" (an mild mannered alien posing as a lawyer with extraordinary powers such as super strength, the ability to fly, and heat vision) and "Hardware" (a black inventor who worked for a top weapons manufacturing company that designed the ultimate cybernetic combat suit to fight evil). If those two descriptions sounded disconcertingly familiar, it's probably because they ARE.

The only two original and DECENT series to come out of Milestone was Static, the story of a young boy who gets caught up in this event that throughout the entire Milestone D.C. universe was a common event that created Mutants... most of which who must now live in a world similar to the X-men universe where nobody cares that a character is "black" but he can climb walls? Oh no, he's less than human, string him up. This was most laughable in their X-men ripoff homage "Blood syndicate"... which involved a bunch of teenagers very similar in abilities to the X-men who were actually a GANG, caught up in the big bang (the event that created mutants in the Milestone D.C. universe), and so now you have this odd "x-men" type story where they are a street gang with super powers fighting OTHER street gangs... Mind you this is around 92-95, so most of it is written like a friggin early 90's gang movie... honestly it reminds me alot of San Andreas... with.. superpowers..
which.. is kinda like INfamous?
Ok that was a lame effort to justify this long ass post that has nothing to do on the topic...

I read this morning that the full game got leaked a while ago, and apparently it's buggy as all hell. Which would explain the lack of reviews, yeah.

I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow?
What if that version was just a...Prototype?

Anyone else notice that there are no reviews for the game. There are always reviews for games before they are released except when the Dev puts an embargo on reviews for being negative.
How is that relevant to the title, "PROTOTYPE WILL BOMB"?
I have the game and it's not world changing but it knows exactly what gamers want and it's nice to see that in an open world sandbox these days.

It's certainly not a Peter Molyneux level of phenomenal disappointment.

Me personally, I only trust Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb for my game reviews, those 2 people know their shit. And their usually spot on. They gave Prototype a 5 out of 5. Not too shabby.

Several things here..

1. I never said Infamous was a "GREAT" Game. It is good, but honestly I don't think it's the Greatest game i've played this month, let alone this year.

2. Almost every game incorporates some sort of nonsense like a comic book and morale system which just about everyone acknowledges is a waste of time. It never feels real and I always feel like I HAVE to make some sort of effort to be "good" which involves choosing between two actions, usually saving an old woman, or EATING her.

3. A game doesnt need to have BLOOD to be good. I don't know why people seem to think that a game's fun factor or rating are directly proportional to it's blood/gore content...

Honestly though, I was more attracted to Prototype than Infamous. Lightning powers are cool and all, but Prototype has a variety of attack styles, and quite frankly, absorbing people and taking their memories or slipping into a crowd pretending to be them rocks.

I agree but I believe it was a 4 out of 5 oh well I think the game is the best single player experience i've had, not for the story just for the number of things to do if you get bored of the story.

Just finished it ,it`s not bad later on things can get a it annoying but for the most part it`s fun+ nothing beats grabbing a soldier off the street ,climbing to a rooftop and then absorbing him (essentially like batman through a criminals eyes) it`s odd that as long asw you stealth absorb ,no one cares that half the base has gone missing and some commander`s randomky following people around before they dissapear ,or that sometimes soldiers have random really powerful headaches. Also quite the twist at the end

People should rent the game and play it themselves to see if they like it. All a review is someone else's opinion. Form your own opinion on the game don't base it off another's.

They are excellent at reviewing games but I say form your own opinion on the game. They gave The Darkness 2 out of 5 and I rented it and I extremely liked it.

I've noticed there are no reviews for it which is very, very odd considering it's such a high profile release.
I think what is likely is that it is buggy as hell, and that Infamous will have a higher score, meaning that people with a PS3, torn between Infamous and Prototype, will go with the former.
Wait... so, you're saying that Prototype, a game that has really only been connected to Infamous in gamers' eyes, will have a delayed review because of it. What? The developers and reviewers wouldn't care if Infamous had a different/better score or not. The two are really only seen as rivals by us.

Also, I'm kind of getting sick of the Sony Fanboyism about Infamous. Does Infamous look awesome? Yes. Do I wish I had a PS3? Yes. But if I did, I would buy both because they both look good. We should really stop comparing the two. The only real reason I can find for the comparisons is that the Sony Fanboys are just happy that they finally have an incredibly awesome game to call their own, which I can get behind, but stop comparing it to Prototype.

On topic: I think the game will rule, the reviews are just later than usual. The same went for Fallout 3. That review came quite late, and it was still an amazing game... one of my favorites. Late reviews do not necessarily equal bad games.

PS Sorry about going so far off topic.
Protoype and Infamous are very similar.
Both free running, have powers in a sandbox city that's can to hell in a handbasket.
Less PS3 fanboy stomping with " Sony Fanboys are just happy that they finally have an incredibly awesome game to call their own" - as far as I'm concerned, Resistance 2, motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, MGS4, Wipeout HD are all great games, so it's nothing like that. Before I knew Infamous was a PS3 exclusive there was a big "wtf" going on in my head as I thought two similar games coming out at the same time was full on weird.
Having two things in common is not very similar. They may be a little similar but not very similar. It would be like comparing the GTA series with the Saints Row games. They are a little similar because of the open world and destruction elements but that is it.

Prototype and Infamous are two different games with a couple of similar qualities. I say rent both form your own opinion on them. (Talking to the general majority)

Every once and a while they go off tracks and I saw that The Darkness was game of the month in an issue of Game Informer
