Well the ps3 version has been reviewed by PSW Magazine UK and they gave it a 90 so its not a bad start im guessing.

And that's the version I care about. Seriously there have been games out there that were good and weren't reviewed beforehand.

I've noticed there are no reviews for it which is very, very odd considering it's such a high profile release.
I think what is likely is that it is buggy as hell, and that Infamous will have a higher score, meaning that people with a PS3, torn between Infamous and Prototype, will go with the former.
Only in my opinion is this a viable thing to say, but I've played shoddier games then Infamous and enjoyed myself a damn-sight more.

The expectations and hype for Infamous was on par with Prototype if not more, I mean what were we promised for Infamous? Adaptive Parkour, gripping action and a free roaming environment and that'ss to name only a few things.

While it managed to hit the mark with only one aspect but only barely (Having your character not be able to get past fences when he shoots frickin' lightning out of his hands is a bit restricting for free-roaming.) It's just not what was promised at all.

The parkour is very static and mostly slow and useless at best, the gripping action boils down to "BURY THE ENEMY IN SHOCK GRENADES!!" which is about as gripping as having a gun on any generic FPS with infinate ammo and no overheating factor...

From what I've seen Prototype will not be the best game to grace our screen, not by a long shot, but what it looks like right now from what I've seen is that it's gonna far excede Infamous.

Prototype won't be the gaming equivilant of the next coming of Jesus, I think it's ridiculous for any gamer to get even an slight hint of that hype towards any game in today's market.
Which is growing increasingly more stale and only occasionally being saved by truly thought out and original titles like The Last Guardian or Heavy Rain, which are games I'm fully prepared to pour interest into.

As for the Reviews thing, I think it's more a smart move from the dev's To without reviews on their game, it's already built up enough of a following to atleast sell well enough on release, So the reviews they get from the people actually playing it for amusement will be a better indication of how well they did or how they could improve then any numerical score from a generic review-site ever could.

So in my opinion, Fair play to them.

If it's glitchy, then fair enough, I guess I'll see for myself when it finally comes out here.

Publishers tend to have little covenants with their review copies stating you won't post it until the day it actually shows up in the store.

Wait... so, you're saying that Prototype, a game that has really only been connected to Infamous in gamers' eyes, will have a delayed review because of it. What? The developers and reviewers wouldn't care if Infamous had a different/better score or not. The two are really only seen as rivals by us.

Also, I'm kind of getting sick of the Sony Fanboyism about Infamous. Does Infamous look awesome? Yes. Do I wish I had a PS3? Yes. But if I did, I would buy both because they both look good. We should really stop comparing the two. The only real reason I can find for the comparisons is that the Sony Fanboys are just happy that they finally have an incredibly awesome game to call their own, which I can get behind, but stop comparing it to Prototype.

On topic: I think the game will rule, the reviews are just later than usual. The same went for Fallout 3. That review came quite late, and it was still an amazing game... one of my favorites. Late reviews do not necessarily equal bad games.

PS Sorry about going so far off topic.

I've seen a few of the trailers and read up on it and it looks terrible. It pretty much just looks like the hulk but you get to be Krauser from Resident Evil 4. Its basically smash a bunch of things and a little bit of story with really sub-par graphics.

I've been talking with some people at game stop and they are all quite skeptical especially due to the lack of demo. I will not even consider buying it until IGN has reviewed it and given it above a "9". (I'm not wasting 60$ on anything below that)

This. Only written in English.

It's a fun game, the graphics are good, the gameplay is awesome and you can't beat taking a base commander's form and forcing all your enemies to salute you. Before you gut them with their own spines.

I don't doubt it'll have a hard time living up to the expectations we set out for it... take note people it's not the game's fault when it gets overhyped, nver, it's always ours because we are the ones who make impossible to obtain standards.... but still this post makes no sense of course there aren't reviews to an unreleased game.

EDIT: I do like that this news was given to us by a man called 'Hypothetical Fact' though.
It's Peter Molyneux's fault.

Your evidence supporting this claim is, for lack of a better word, Shit.
Oh, cant we make up a word... or hyphenate? I think this does it justice... This claim, for lack of a better word, makes-me-want-to-inhale-my-own-vomit-straight-from-the-toilet... maybe a bit much but it sends the message. And I now have Prototype, and I wish I could say I bought it because of this "anti-"thread, but I preordered it weeks ago. But I can tplay it because my 360 RROD'ed this morning when I turned it on!

What he said. This game is great fun. I have both and so far I like Prototype better, maybe bacause it is not a generic shooter where you spam grenades (a la, inFamous).

Anyone else notice that there are no reviews for the game. There are always reviews for games before they are released except when the Dev puts an embargo on reviews for being negative.
That's because the game feels unfinished, reviewers don't like games that aren't finished.

I spent most of this morning playing it (at a shop, on the demo unit) and the best way to sum it up would be that it could have been awesome, but needed another six months worth of work on it.
The graphics and collision detection need a lot more work, it looks pretty good at ground level but as soon as you start climbing buildings or filling the screen with enemies it all goes a bit wrong. The draw distance is prohibitively short and it suffered slow down, add the occasional miss the ground moment and it gets annoying.

Playing it I got the impression that it's release date had been brought forward (or an extension had been denied) to try and head off the release of Infamous. Unfortunately it appears to have left Infamous the better game by virtue of being finished, if it had been better polished Prototype could have been a lot better.
