I was there when the Playstation controller only had the Digital Pad as opposed to analog sticks, I was there when the N64 was released and the next day Sony had added the sticks, I was there when the Rumble Pack was released and then Sony added rumble to the Dualshock 2.

I have reasons why I no longer like Sony or the Playstation brand, one of the major ones is how the PS3 fanboys act.

blu-ray discs - because you SHOULD re-buy all of your movies every few years, I already have the ability to play blu-ray disks, this does not affect my buying thoughts.

free online play - I wouldnt call it "Play" as much as "the ability to hack and troll the fuck out of players without any regard to one's account. Got Banned? remake new account free of charge.

internet access - Because neither the Wii or 360 can access the internet.

vid zone - I have a playstation, but instead of playing games on it I want to watch videos!

sixaxis controlers - motion rip-off, Wii did it first.

playStation plus - Protip: Dont flaunt that you have free online play, then also flaunt that you have subscriptions too, idiot.

recargable controlers - both the Wii and the 360 ALSO have this, idiot.

DVD upscaling - and? the 360 has Upscaling also, the point of making a point is fact checking.

PS Home - if you have to use PS Home as a "reason the PS3 is better", you are failing. HARD.

PS store - yet again with the "we have free online play, but let me tell you about things you need to pay for!", the 360, Wii, and PC all have virtual stores.

less kids with mics - is that because no one ever buys a mic? I mean, you already payed for a console, I wouldn't expect the maker box it with a microphone also. oh, wait, the 360 comes with mics out of the box.

I don't think the 360 can web browse and the playstation plus is kind of the opposite of XBL, with XBL you need to pay to play online, PS+ you don't have to pay to play but you get stuff cheaper and other nice things like beta access.

You buy a console primarly to play games right? All three play games very well, all 3 let you download games straight to the console for easy access and all 3 have the option for 'more-than-you'll-ever-use' hard drive space.

It is a personal preferation. I have an Xbox 360 and I'm not gonna buy a PS3. I'm not really into the flame war. If someone likes PS3 more than Xbox it's completely okay because again, it's a matter of opinion. BUT some of the arguments in the bio seem to be a bit....weird/stupid. Free online play is an advantage yes but Xbox's social and chatting abilities are superior compared to PS3. And 360 also has rechargeable controllers. And sixaxis controllers better? With the "triggers" and motion sensor that is completely useless? Okay. And well PS store and live marketplace are basically the same things.

Not everyone can afford a gaming PC though, so it makes sense that they would stick to the consoles. There are 360 I'd like to play, but I don't feel they warrent me buying another 360 again. Still, nothing quite beats the joy of modded games on PC The infinate fun to be had in Fallout 3 for example.

That was the exact same thought I had when I was reading the OP.

I have a PS3 and I prefer it to the 360, but that's my personal preference. There are games that are only available on the 360 that I drool over. Everyone has their personal preferences, but noone wants to have anothers personal preference rammed down their throat.

PS3 vs XBOX360 wars are borrrrrrrrring.

There aren't enough titles unique to each system to actually have a good battle with. Both play the biggest games of whatever year, it is nothing like PS2 vs XBOX vs GC, or even, Nintendo Vs Sega, or PS1 vs N64.

Back then you had games on one system that you couldn't on the other, and that is what made the console war actually have some merit. Example? Sonic vs Mario, Crash Bandicoot vs..uhm.. Banjo Kazooie. Halo vs Metal Gear Solid 3, etc etc. (Though Halo and MGS are still system-unique titles).

Whenever I hear Xbox360 vs PS3, I yawn. The only major difference I even care about, is that PS3 is free online. Woo. Cool. So is my PC. Sure you have some unique title differences like Uncharted or Killzone, but in the grand scheme? Hardly.

Let's take this from a readers' perspective; two kinds of people are going to read this:
- XboX360 fanboys.
- Not fanboys; normal people.

The first group is going to flame on. The latter is just going to shrug it off and think "what an idiot" along with any other that thinks straight.

And I fail to see why the Sixaxis controller is a big plus?

I really like the way it's implemented in some games. Heavy Rain is probably the best example. So.Much.Immersion. Another good and way more straightforward example is Fl0w. I don't know if XboX 360 has another kind of motion detection in its controllers, though; I'm not saying PS3 is better, it's not even about the PS3. It's about the games that implement it cleverly.

I don't see why exclusive titles is a stupid reason to prefer a PS3, its the main reason I prefer mine. If anything, it has more symbolic value to me then the blu-ray player, hardware and free multiplayer.

The exclusives and sometimes the features of the console are what attract consumers over to the console and it is the reason why PS3 has picked up some pacing compared to its bad start. So I wouldn't say exclusives are a bad thing, it isn't bad to want a 360 for Halo a Wii for Smash Brothers or a PS3 for Uncharted, thats all just down to personal preference.

Its the whole debate that's stupid, not the individual reasons.
