Question for multi-platform owners

So my question is bascially what factors and circumstances typically influence your decision on what platform to purchase a multi-platform game for?

The reason I ask is because recently I finally saved up some cash and built a custom PC and have been enjoying it a lot. However, I still own an Xbox and with all the titles that are coming out this year I'm kind of perplexed as to what games to get for PC or Xbox?

For instance BioShock: Infinite, on the surface it looks like a solid game. It's a strictly SP title but I'm wondering if it could end up being a poorly constructed console port? On the other hand I'm a fan of the Tomb Raider franchise but I have a few concerns with the reboot and I might want to trade it in if I don't enjoy it.

Your thoughts?

I purchase for the exclusives, them exclusives man....
I have a PC, Wii and PS3 along with a few handhelds but who cares about them right?
The use for a PC is obvious enough, a lot of games a long with other features like good ole internet, I also prefer to use this for shooter games simply because I am use to using a mouse.
I love the Wii for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, a fun game overall especially when friends come over and we need something to do.
PS3 I haven't used this as much admittedly, though that's probably because I don't have that many exclusives or good games yet.

I only ever buy a multi-platform for the Xbox when it is a multiplayer title. Because all my friends play online on the Xbox. For every other game if it has a PC version then I get that version. That way you get better graphics and framerate.

I choose it based on which controller I like more (PS3, 360, and PC).

Therefore, I always choose 360 when I have the choice. I've never been a big PC gamer (if it's not a RTS, I go console) and I much prefer the 360 controller over the PS3 controller (plus...ACHIEVEMENTS!!!)

I generally choose PC unless it's a truly unsalvageable port, which I have yet to see in a game that I actually wanted. Basically, I like using keyboard and mouse more than a controller for most games, I like the prettier graphics, and it's just more convenient. Plus, there are some pc games out there with mods (less than I'd like, but that's a different discussion), and I like mods.

I prefer gaming on consoles despite having a gaming PC because of reasons. I tend to buy games on PC only if it's an RPG (I like to take screenshots) or an exclusive.

Other than that, PS3 for online games and fighters, Xbox for shooters.

I buy only the triple-AAA games for my PS3 and games that I rent and return. My PC has the games that I'd like to keep forever thanks (mostly) to Steam. It's a small collection right now, but it will grow.

Does it work on my PC? If yes, buy the PC version.

If no / Console exclusive, buy the PS3 version.

And my Xbox sits in the corner alone and cries.

PS3: Exclusives and, Blu Ray movies

Wii: Exclusives.

X360: Everything else.

Wii U: Games from a few months ago that I didn't want on the 360. I had to wait a while for ME3 and Arkham City but they came with the DLC and the controller is my map. My 360 has been gathering dust recently...Also my PC can't really play anything. Minecraft makes it chunk up for example but I got through Beneath a Steel Sky with no problem.

I strongly prefer the 360 controller to the PS3 controller as well but that's kind of a petty argument since 3rd party developers make 360 style controllers for the PS3. The U Gamepad is also a surprisingly comfortable controller as well (at least until they make me hold it in one hand and my wrist snaps).

I don't even have a PC, but buy what system that game is meant for. Whether it be exclusives or let's say Rage for the console. Wait about a week after a game's out and make the decision from there. I'm sure those who own a PS3 and another platform wished they waited a little for Skyrim instead of making day one buy for their PS3.

If you NEED a game and don't want to wait, just dump a few dollars in Steam on your PC. Wait till you find out more about which system is best for the game you have your eye on.

If it is not available on PC (or is a crappy port), I usually get it for PS3. I prefer the 360's controller, but my 360's disk drive is utter crap, so I would rather put up with a controller that I like slightly less over a disk drive that rarely works. :p

I honestly just choose the platform for which the controls are the most naturally intuitive. I own a PC, Wii, PS3 and an X-Box, but I usually go for PC games, just because of the community if I plan to go multiplayer. I actually don't have a whole lot to say about this, It's just something that is based off of personal preference.

I usualy get it for the xbox 360 because all my friends are on there, though if there is no multiplayer I get it on the system that has it the cheapest, unless that system's version of the game is worse then the other systems. Achevements used to play a big part on what system I would get it on but now that I don't realy care anymore I tend to get alot more games for the PC on steam sales.

PS3 for personal tastes. 360 is the logical choice, being the console most games are made for nowadays. However, I dislike its interface and find the Trophy system on the PS3 to be about the only worthwhile form of achievement log.

I normally buy games for my PS3 over my PC because it's not up to current standards and I prefer using a PS3 controller over mouse/keyboard for the bulk of my gaming.

Buy for whatever system you like playing the most (controller feel, friends online, the online service itself, etc).

Or just buy whichever copy is cheaper.

For multi-platform games, I usually get it for whatever plays more comfortably. For me, I play an FPS (Portal 2)better on PC than I do on the Xbox 360. You can also get the game based on quality (graphics-wise) and available features that might be exclusive to a platform.

I prefer to play games on my PC. In addition to the differences of playing on PC to Xbox, there's also the convenience of buying on steam or other digital distribution client, (though I figure that's also possible on consoles - just haven't done it before) PC game are a little bit cheaper, not being reliant on using the only TV in my share house of six, not having to pay for xbox live to multiplay online, and being able to mod games.

That being said sometimes you can just feel that the PC version is going to feel crappy compared to the console versions in which case I go for the Xbox version.

Well if I can get it on PC I do. Always. Its because my PC can just run everything better and if the PC port is crap there are often mods out there to fix the issues. Not only that but modding can significantly add to a games enjoyment. For example Morrowind is an all around excellent game with mods but I wont touch it stock, there are just to many problems with the interface and how leveling works. Bethesda didnt make that one of my favorite games of all time, moders did. Perhaps the best thing about my PC is the massive game selection that consoles just dont have

As far as console only ports it really depends. One thing I dislike about the PS3's controller is the shoulder buttons which feel flimsy and overly sensitive but if its a story based game with less gameplay Ill get it on PS3 because I think the PS3 hardware makes games look better.

However I tend to buy a game on XBOX when gameplay is at the core of the game. The controller and the framerates just feel better to me

Then there is the Wii, which I havnt touched since the year I bought it. It has such a horrible game selection on it that I really am regreting buying it. Monster hunter Tri, the only game I really enjoyed, was just not enough to justify purchasing it. On that note, Im not getting a Wii U either unless it has a huge library of games I want to play

I own both a 360 and a PS3. Two factors go into deciding what platform I buy the game for.

This first factor is my friends. Most of them play on the PS3, and when I want to do co op stuff that's where I go.
The second factor is trophies. All things being equal in both versions of the game, I will get the PS3 one for the trophies. Yes, I know people can't understand that, I know people think it's stupid, but I like getting my trophies. My friends and I all have races to see who can get the platinum for certain games first.
