I buy for the PS3 when it's an exclusive, or when I want to bypass using Origin/Steam. I really want to use those two as little as possible.

I get it for whatever system has better controls. If I think it plays better with a M&K I get it for PC, and if I think it plays better with a controller I get it for PS3 since that's the most comfortable controller. The only exception is when the ports are drastically different, then I get it for the better system. Such as DMC4 for PC and Bayonetta for 360.

I only recently got a PC that could run anything beyond Civ3 (and even THAT was barely there) so I've started to enjoy being back in the fold.

Personally, I prefer my PS3.
Even the Skyrim purchase I made, while stupid, was still better then when I rented it for my 360.

My PS3 has free online, as does the PC, unlike the 360.
So that's kind of a default for me.

I prefer the 360 controller, but apart from that I(personally, cba with a flame war) think the PS3 is better in every way. Especially the fact that the machine doesn't sound like an airplane taking off. So I get all my games for PS3. Should be well over 100 of them now. Haven't seen any exclusives for the 360 worth getting.

I have a PS3 and a PC.

My PC's nothing to brag about, so basically whatever it can't run goes on my PS3.

I have a PC and a PS3 but my PC is a beast so the vast majority of my games are on that.

I have an Xbox, Wii, DS, PS3 and PC.

I will more than likely buy a game on PC because I prefer shoot em'ups with a mouse as I hate analog controls on the consoles. Same with RPGS, I'd much rather have a mouse and keyboard when I play them.

I play DC:Universe on my PS3 and I am more than happy to dish out money for any Uncharted game on PS3.

I don't really buy DS or Xbox games anymore... if I can get it on PC or PS3 then I will get the games on those ports. I really should sell my Xbox... I canceled Live only last month.

I have a PC and a PS3 and I basically only get games for the PS3 that are exclusive.

See, I don't need to buy my games right at relase. So while any game at some point drops below 5? on Steam PS3 games never drop below 20?.

I'm just stingy like that.

I own all 3 (gaming PC, 360 and PS3, that is). My PS3 collects dust unless a ps3 only title emerges.
With the other 2, you're in the same position I was last summer when I built my first pc.

Most of my mates play 360 so if it's a multiplayer game I get 360.
XCOM I did get for PC, felt easier to control with mouse and keyboard.
The problem I have is having not used a mouse and keyboard for non-FPSes before it feels a bit alien. I got Dishonoured for PC and really struggle with the controls because it isnt second nature yet, so when Farcry came out which I thought might have similar controls I got it for xbox.

Finally, for any RPGs such as Fallout, TES etc, get them for pc. Mods add so much more to the games.

I have a xbox 360, PS3 and a high end pc. How I pick the games is if its a high graphics type game (like Skyrim) then I'll get it on the pc. If its an exclusive or I just fancy getting a new PS3 game then I'll get that. Everything else is for the Xbox as that is my preference.

The only real advantage of PC over Consoles is that, in general, you can plug in any controller that fits your needs, and thus adapt the experience to your tastes (You can even plug in a Wiimote).

The only real advantage of Consoles over PC is platform exclusive titles, and the prevalence of shitty PC ports.

Hardware is rather irrelevant. The PC offers a gradual but constant increase in processing power, but consoles close that gap with each generation, and many games are designed with specific console generation specs in mind, so quite often the extra power of the PC is wasted.

So my advice is to choose based on what better suits you as a player. If a platform you own offers a better combined experience for a certain game (control/graphics/extras/availability) then go for it.

Just try to stay away from dogmatic approaches (All those "I use XBOX for shooters, PS3 for cooking mama and PC for Indie Games" lists), put some thought into what each platform offers (aka: do the research) and feel proud that you are a responsible consumer, not just the puppet of some marketing department.

I have a a Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and a couple of handhelds.

I buy most games on PS3 as I like the controller more than 360's, and find the games (by in large) play better.
I buy most "console popular" shooters on xbox as most of my friends play
I buy RTS, PC classic style games (The witcher style games, sleeping dogs, BF3 etc)

Simple reasons for xBox:
1) all my friends are on xbox live
2) I don't have to install crapware onto my PC (steam, uplay, origin, gfwl - I hate these so much)
3) I like the controller better than PS3
4) no troubleshooting (changing audio settings like http://crashfixes.com/fixing-skyrim-crashes-freezes-errors-steam-crash-no-sound-lags-choppy-framerates/ LOLWTF :D, hunting forums for dlls to replace or "correct" vga drivers or "correct" framework versions, edditing ini files / registry and so on)

Sadly that doesn't work with games like God of War, Uncharted and so on. :(

God you think there's logic to my decisions?

Sometimes it's control influenced, FPS's are better on the PC because mouse & key but if it's something I want to play with friends I buy it on PS3 because I don't play online games these days and only play local.

Otherwise I prefer my PS3 controller to my PC controller for platformers, action games (like DmC), or driving games because the shoulders I find more comfortable for a gradual acceleration than the triggers on the 360 pad. Anything 2D or retro I also prefer to use the PS3 becasuse the dpad is slightly less awful, when I get my Wii U i'll be using that instead.

I also play platform exclusives on their exclusive platforms (no shit).

Basically:
FPS that isn't local multiplayer or console exclusive => PC if I can run it
Hack n Slash => Console
RPG => Console
JRPG => Console
Platformer => Console
Shmup => Console (because Sin & Punishment thats why!) though really if it's on PC and dirt cheap i may play them there too

Though variations do occur and such, I kinda use my PC for other stuff while I want to game at the same time, I use a combination of PS3, PC and Wii at the moment, along with a Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2 and assorted handhelds that are in use at the moment.

Back in 2006, I bought a 360 and I bought a PS3 2 years later to play the exclusives (namely Twisted Metal). I also plan to buy a new high-end computer with my leftover college fund once I get that sorted out.

Well, usually, I get RPG games for my 360, except when I'm expecting lots of mods for it. Then I get it for PC.
However, a while ago (Maybe a year or more) I got a 360 controller for PC, so now there's nothing really holding me back to buying everything for PC.

PS3: Exclusives and, Blu Ray movies

Wii: Exclusives.

X360: Everything else.
Yeah, pretty much this letter for letter. But I would like to make a point that it is not because I like the 360 more, at all in fact. The 360 is my least favorite of the consoles this gen, because I dislike the hardware and the exclusives the most of the three. I buy most multi-platform games for the 360 because Xbox live has the best online multilayer, with the easiest interface for headset conversations, etc. All my friends have XBL, so when I buy a game I want to play with them I have to get it on the Xbox, even if I really wanted it on another console.

The PlayStation has the best, most comfortable controller for me and the best exclusives if we are talking about disc based games. (XBLA has the best games overall).

Though now I would like to point out that I have a wiiU and I will be getting games for this thing over the xbox whenever I can, if just for it to look a little nicer. Also I really want to see what new features the extra screen adds. Supposedly Aliens:Colonial Marines is going to have a better wiiU port then any other, according to the devs.

I have all current gen platforms, some handhelds and a gaming PC.
I pretty much always buy on the PC first as it's just my preferred way to play, and is often a lot cheaper.

I then prefer the PS3 on console only releases, because I refuse to play for xbox live; then finally I just get exclusives I want on whatever they're exclusive to.

I work over 8 hours a day on my computer, so these days I tend not to also game on it. I realize that moving from the computer screen to the TV screen is not a massive change of scenery, but it helps the monotony. After that, exclusives where they fall, and then I generally default to Xbox over PS3. I have more friends on XBL than PSN by a longshot and I *generally* find a less buggy experience. I do love my PS3 though, especially when exclusives like Journey hit.

When there's an exclusive, enough said. As for cross-platform games, I research which is technically the better edition. That includes promos, graphic level, exclusive DLCs, disc count (TAKE THAT XBOX!), and unique features. For example, I'll be getting Colonial Marines on the Wii U, MGR: Revengeance for the ps3... and...

Damn, looks like I only own an xbox 360 for exclusives. Moving on.

If there's a Steam sale better than I'd find a game on shelves, I'll go PC. That and games optimized for it like CryEngine games and Bethesda games and any game with a TOS-friendly modding community like Skyrim.
