I don't often see shitty movies, but when I do, I see them cheaply and with a pitcher of beer.

Ian McShane will rule, even if everything else sucks.

The films were never good, but they were damn fun nonetheless. With any luck this'll be the same, although Penelope Cruz in it is horrible.

Looks flipping amazing, I don't care what anyone says.
Finally no bloom or knightly thank god for that, now we can move on to the one of the only characters that was any good in any of films JACK! (and to a point Barbossa)
I think blackbeard is a nice touch and I can't wait to see him in action.
Humour looks good so far, looks like they have gone back to there roots of this series, good funny, yet interesting pirating fun.

Not really....black beard is a legit pirating legend, and the fountain of youth is a story that was told from Sinbad, so as far as pirating legends go there sticking to there guns (lol) come back and say that when they introduce time travel or some crap like that.

It just seems to me that when a film reaches 3 sequels, everybody feels obliged to slam it. What the hell is your problem? The first three were good, why would the forth be bad? If people had reacted this way with James Bond we'd probably be missing some real classics.

If anything it should be the best yet, due to the lack of Bloom and Knightley. Hopefully we won't have to put up with any more god awful romantic sub plots.

It looks decent. I'd probably rent it. I've loved the settings, the dialogue and the music of the previous films even when the story itself started getting kind of iffy. Although once I started accepting Pirates as a kind of New World Fairy Tale the story became a lot more palatable. I'm probably going to miss the Knightly and Bloom characters though.

I haven't seen the third one yet, but I might see this one. A hour and a half or two of "The Adventures of Jack Sparrow, minus the other two?" doesn't seem all that bad to me.

I have not seen or heard anything about the new one, so I chose other.
I was a fan of the first and I am casually a fan of the series.
I am curious to watch it, but until it comes out I doubt I will pay it any mind or attention.

It is not like the new Tron, which I am anticipating.

It looks like they took a small number of elements from a pretty good book (http://www.amazon.com/Stranger-Tides-Tim-Powers/dp/1930235321/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292371519&sr=8-1) and ran it through the grinder until it was a smooth, featureless generic action movie fortified with Popular Trademarked Character(tm).

Wow. The amount of times I heard them say "Jack" is astounding. The entire movie is riding on Sparrow's character, and I don't know if they can pull it off. Depp is talented enough, but I suspect even the most die hard Pirate fan will get tired of him after a while.

By the way, the sets look fake- The Last Airbender fake.

Is Disney owned by Activision or something? Let it go already. The first one was good, the second, meh, the third was terrible, I don't hold out much hope for this one.

It is exactly what the other movies were to me a good popcorn flick to waste a couple of hours of boredom away. I'll see it just to see it on a lazy afternoon.

I can't wait for it! But I suppose I'm slightly biased as I'm pretty much the world's biggest POTC fan. I've even got 2 POTC-inspired tattoos (including a half-sleeve). I think the lack of Bloom is a selling point but Knightly will be missed. I was bothered, at first, by Verbinski not directing it but he did quite a poor job with the third film so I've got high hopes for this one with a fresh take on it, actor and director-wise

Two words - "cash" and "in".

At Worlds End could have been an epic movie but it wasn't (sadly). This appears to be Disney just trying to make an extra buck off of the franchise.

Probably won't stop me seeing it at the cinema though.

it doesn't look bad it just looks so very bland
This, it appears to be a cash in only desirable because Jack Sparrow is such a cool character.

Isn't bland a bad characteristic for a movie?
