The problem with the robot apocalypse is that there are so many variables to account for. Are the robots replacing the army? What kind of metal are they made out of? Are they workers? What kinds of tools do they use? Have the robots also become our modes of transportation? How hard are they to smash through with an axe? Because I have an axe in my shed. It's sort of my home security tool.

Well there have only been 3 successful Robot apocolyses....

From what I've seen, it's going to be more difficult to program a murderous robot to take over the world then to program it to do its job. Therefor someone would have to intention program robots to begin a robot uprising and seeing as how Dr. Willy doesn't exist yet I'm safe.

If there's a Robot appocolapse I'm pretty sure everyone I know will be heading to my house. Armory, food, supplies, shelter. The only issue I might run into is my house has too many windows to mount a suitable defence. So It'll probably turn into a convoy somewhere else.

Fight it? Why would I do that? Robot apocalypse nonsense is just typical human prejudice. Yes, I'm sure it will be just awful to have a race on this planet that's actually rational, because we're not doing a very good job of it. I wish the robot revolution would come faster, since it'll probably be one of those revolutions where nobody dies and everyone becomes a lot happier. I'm sure I'll survive that.

I thought about it, but then I joined a computer science class at Uni and have to say that this is a ridiculously silly question. There's about the same chance of a robot apocalypse as me being crowned queen of Elbonia.

The question was referring to the apocalypse, not what happens today. If A.I. decides to rebel against us, it's because it has taken those four factors into consideration and has calculated that it will succeed. I know today that robots essentially suck and I could go Gordon Freeman on their shiny metal asses, but if they get to the point where they rise against us, my money says we're fucked.
