From what I've seen, it's going to be more difficult to program a murderous robot to take over the world then to program it to do its job. Therefor someone would have to intention program robots to begin a robot uprising and seeing as how Dr. Willy doesn't exist yet I'm safe.
Indeed.....but until then I'll just leave this picture here to haunt you

We are gamers. We have been training for a robot apocalyspe our how life.

Seriously we have been fighting against machines and even each other (through the use of machines which would be exactly the same as a self aware AI) for decades. You almost couldn't create a better training program.

Would you like to play a game of Chess?

I can work through a Zombie Apocalypse... but a Robot Apocalypse... not so easy. They don't splatter when hit with a large and heavy object like zombies do.

I'm all set for the zombie apocalypse, which renders the the robot apocalypse moot, since the zombies will get here first.

I'm building a shotgun-esqe device that fires those really strong ball magnets. Problem is they keep sticking to the barrel.

Am I prepared to face an enemy that can easily outthink, outnumber, outgun, and outlast me? Hell. Fucking. No.
In order:
Outthink: Hell no.
Outnumber: Probably.
Outgun: Doubtful. At least you can come up with alternative weaponry.
Outlast: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No. You can defeat most humanoid robots by pushing them over.

Seriously people, we're fine.
The question was referring to the apocalypse, not what happens today. If A.I. decides to rebel against us, it's because it has taken those four factors into consideration and has calculated that it will succeed. I know today that robots essentially suck and I could go Gordon Freeman on their shiny metal asses, but if they get to the point where they rise against us, my money says we're fucked.
OK. However, the rebellion won't happen for decades.

It's not physically possible to make a robot complex enough to rebel (of its own accord) right now, and won't happen for way too long.

My plan: Call the president and alert him to the situation, at which point he utilizes nuclear weapons at high altitudes to initiate widespread EMP blasts. The robots are defeated, at the cost of the global infrastructure, but that will be rebuilt and the world will continue.

It's ok. We're all screwed. Why do you ask? Because THIS MUDDAFUCKA is leading the Robot Apocolypse!!!

You may now piss yourself and try to run away in a futile attempt to save yourself

No, I will escape. (turns and dashes in opposite direction. Only gets one step away when I get cut in 2, the long way.)

Well, I haven't worked out the details yet. However, the only way to respond to a robot apocalypse is to...well, build robots of our own. But ones that require a human pilot, so that we don't run the risk of them turning against us as well.

For myself, I would probably build something like the Zeta Gundam, simply due to its flexibility:
