Story? Quite possibly. Everything else? Don't know if I have the skills for it. Though, I may after college, that is if I stay with Computer Science/Engineering.

I'm currently in colledge trying very hard to get a degree in Computer Engineering so that one day I can be part of a team creating this art we all love and share! I won't stop until I get there one day!

Blizzard, I'm looking at you!

Also Irrational, Bioware, Valve and ArenaNet.

I wouldn't be able to design it, not very competently, at least, but I'd love to write for one.

I've always wanted to be a part of the creative process for movies, games, etc. so that would definitely be something I would want to do.

I really hope to get into the video game developing industry one day. But I might change my mind. I am only a sophomore in high school at the moment.

Yes, but not video games. I'll put it this way: My role models are Klaus Teuber, Reiner Knizia, and Richard Garfield.

Nope, no thanks, I wanted to be a game designer for awhile, but when you start to realise how the codes and stuff works games become less fun to play, you start to see the core off the apple before you even take a bite and it doesn't help you enjoy the apple.

There are plenty of programmer positions that are more interesting than game development anyway.
Depends if you factor in the people or not.

What do we choose if we already make games? Or (in my case) are currently in college in a major specifically for Game Development?

And before somebody tries to mock me, I'm not going to DevRy or Pheonix or any school like that, I'm going to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) it's a great school, interesting fact, guy that hacked the PS3 went there.

I simply can't imagine doing a job that does not interest me. And having done some design myself, just as a hobby, I think it would be one of the few jobs available to me that I can have fun in.

I'd rather make my money in science, biological research, which is what I'm going to university for. Not that I wouldn't like to make some games someday, but it won't be a profession, it'll just be a collab with me and the coders and artists I know, or maybe a solo effort. Unlikely be for money, but come what may.

I'd like to, but doubt it'd happen. What with my radical new ideas of not putting DRM on my games, trying new things instead of churning out sequels, and thinking of new ways to play instead of doing the same thing everyone else does.

Publishers don't like that, and they're the ones with the money. So yeah.
You rebel. Fight the man.

I would love to, but I kinda already have my eyes set on microbiology.

I was originally going to use my degree in the games industry until I found out the film industry pays in spades for my work.
Sorry games, but money talks louder than my heart!

That alone should say something about my personality.

Other: I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I'd probably be quite useful to a development studio, but I have neither the credentials nor contacts necessary to be hired. Also, I'm not much of a programmer, so I can't very well do it on my own, can I?

And seriously, who the hell has a problem making $51,000 doing a job they love? I realize $51,000 isn't endless mounds of money or anything, but I'd be happy with that, especially if it was in a job I actually enjoyed. So not at Activision, but most other places in the video game industry.

I voted "Other" because making games is something I enjoy as a hobby not a day to day job. This way I can make them at my own pace and am free to scrap or change a project at any point in time. :)

Actually, I wouldn't. I like to keep games on a hobby basis, because if I make it my job, they might get less interesting, and I might get tired of them.

I don't want to directly make them but i want to have some part in their development, through funding. My plan is to work in unrelated areas and and run businesses. If i have a lot of extra money at some point, a game company would definitely be part of that.
